  • Is this better than the Aldi one? Is it even comparable?

    • Anaconda had the single-zone 45L version of this on sale last week, and I decided to get it instead of the Waeco-Dometic from ALDI.
The main difference for my decision was size (internal and external)

    • can you still get the Aldi one?many commented only one in their store.

why you need 80L? and 30Kg of dead weight?

    • "dead weight" implies it's not doing anything.
      Fridges aren't weightless….

      Why?

To carry around 80L of products that need refrigeration.

      Every product on earth:
"Why you need X? and Xkg of dead weight?"

  • Anyone have an experience with the brass monkey ones from jay car?

    • +1

I have not. But if they'll almost certainly be from the same factory as these Anaconda house brand units.

Although the Jaycar one is significantly lighter at only 30g in weight. 😉

Jaycar’s model breaks space-time, all for only $100 extra and it even comes with 12 months of additional warranty. 😂

As an ex employee with heaps of friends who work at anaconda I'd say to be cautious with oztrails and primus camping fridges, many have been returned for warranty claims, I'd probably day the Dometic ones from Aldi are a better buy, waeco fridges are better quality, been in the game longer and less warranty issues, but if it's for light use, this fridge should be alright, just camping, you might have some issues

    • What's the warranty process like? Are you likely to be left without a fridge for weeks or are they reasonably quick turning them around?

      • It's up to oztrail, which is just a cheapo Chinese company, you'll more likely than not be left without the fridge for a while depending on who you talk to, some people know the loops that need to be jumped through,
also sorry for the slow reply

    • Well, my 45L oztrail appears to be useless straight of the box.
It seems to cool to about 14 degrees, no matter what the thermostat is set to.

  • For some the metal vs plastic case adds to the decision process.
