  • Has anyone found one yet?

    • I've found 2. But I very much doubt I'm the first.

      • Is it just capital X's within a word like how they have "eXactly" or is it something else? honestly no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for

        • you're on the right track. it will stick out when you see it.

          • @edsnails: although I just saw on a Facebook group that Telstra would update the exchange article when clues had been found…. so maybe not. Maybe there are just red herrings out there!

      • Care to share what they actually look like?

        • +1

Check out some of the solved ones for examples of what to look for. Looks like it's just one letter in a random word replaced with an x.

Sure makes it extra hard when you get no idea what the "mark" looks like, but I gotta say the scavenger hints are a really good mind bender. Kinda sorta get a few of them, but not enough that I can just google the answer. Great job on the competition designers!

I wish they disclosed on which website specifically they can be found…like are they all on Telstra’s main website or could they be on one of the many major partners’ sub-sites…ie. FOXTEL, AFL etc. I mean that is all part of “their corner of the net”, no?

Makes the parameters so ambiguous and without known limits.

To the people who spend countless hours hunting, you deserve the prize and enjoy.

    • Exactly.

    • As I understand, all of them can be found within the exhange.telstra.com.au blog pages.

One of them was on Ubisoft's site… A couple of others on Twitter. Uhhh

  • it'd be nice to see a sample of one hidden ??!!

  • "X Marks The Spot is eXactly what it sounds like" < I think that's a clue as to what it might look like. Just a capitalised X in a word.

Seems like it's too hard for me. The only thing I could get from the clues is "Emily Valentine" is a character from 90210. She first appeared in an episode called Wildfire. HTC had a phone called the Wildfire S and Telstra offered it … ? Also, she first appeared in 1991 .. is that year significant? 1991 is 29 years ago .. does 29 have any significance ?? ehhh I couldn't come up with anything.

I googled 'Emily Valentine' and while it came up as the character from 90210 I also considered 'hung up her boots' as cryptic and also saw there was a rugby player called Emily Valentine from the 1800s known as the 'first lady of rugby'.

I then searched 'rugby' on telstra exchange and it came up with the article of 'Extending our NRL partnership into Women’s Rugby League' which I thought would be a fitting response to "We’ve come a long way since Emily Valentine tied up her boots".

I could be mistaken but ah well!

Edit: Also, the fact that the article begins with 'Extending' (as in, X-tending) could be a thing too.

      • Makes a tonne more sense .. you might be on to something with that line of thinking.

  • Page is updated now. You can see examples. Most are gone.
I was right for my two but obviously no where close to first.

  • Wow, that was fast. And yeah was looking in completely the wrong place for most that I tried.

  • Fairly certain I found one of the remaining ones, just hoping no one has found it before me

    • 4 or 10?

      • 10

        • All the best, I have a 10% feeling even I have got it

          • @TasJacks: Likewise, best of luck

            • @Magniitude: Wouldn't have guessed nbn was the answer, you won?

              • @TasJacks: Nah I didn't, I found another site that had an 'x' replacing a letter, bit disappointing. Good luck in the future :)

  • 8 out of 10 found so far.

2 on Telstra Exchange blogs, 2 on Twitter and 1 each on the Telstra, AFL, NRL and Ubisoft websites.

  • we think we’ve put together some pretty hard clues, so it might even stretch until the end of the promotion period on 22 September at 12 midday (AEST)

LOL 8/10 gone in a few hours. No way will this last another week.

  • I found #4 - Hopefully, I'm first.

    • Same, found about an hour ago, how about you? Good luck!

    • I thought it was automated. Once the first person enters the correct URL, the website updates itself.

      • I don't think so, they updated all of them at the same time about 6pm last night

    • I'm not sure how it wasn't found yet, I'm fairly confident it's the Ubisoft Page (AU) for Just Dance 2021 (similar to AC Riddle)

      • There's no extra 'x' on that page though?

      • I tried the Twitter announcement for Just Dance 2021 from Ubisoft AU. No X though.

        • Nope, was TikTok

          • @krayl: Hahaha I thought for some reason it was just Lil Nas and they added the X

  • Just based off our comments here, this competition is over.

  • Competition page updated, all done

  • Really gotta read my emails more often, Telstra's happy to ask me to spend points on Foxtel, but not tell me 'bout comps.

Bit subtle in 2 out of first 4 :- experiencesx, bax (can't remember other one) but the AFLX one went nuts, like 7 or 8 "x"s or "X"s - would have been easier with lower case word with X in it, but they Were hoping for 22 Sept extension. They underestimated frantic comp fans in aus :)

MS has new fancier page for XB series X, vids etc. but only buy links to Telstra All Access - JB HiFi at least lists a bunch of games, but still just email interest form.

Sidenote - never played Halo, was un-aware playing in extended planet circling Halo ring wasn't a thing - new console says it is now (presume small sections till now - whole ring play??).
