Huon Salmon is running a 10% off everything (excl. Gift Vouchers) until Sep 30th. Use code SALMONSEP at checkout. The code also includes already discounted products.

Orders must be over $30 to apply. Flat rate of $10 postage Australia wide, orders over $200 in value ship free. You can order up to 3 months in advance (perfect for Grand Final Weekend and nearing Xmas).

As products are made to order, we need time to prepare them and ensure they packed and put on the truck at the latest possible time before they need to depart. This way it gets to the customer as fresh as possible. So, after your order is placed our customer service team will be in touch within 2 business days to confirm the day it will be sent (minimum of 5-7 business days from order). All products are made-to-order and shipped out in polyboxes containing frozen-gel packs which last for up to 56 hours. Orders arrive within 24-48 hours of dispatch.

      Thanks GG57, I will add this to the deal for further clarification.

      We do contact customers to ensure they understand the delivery process and/or just as a courtesy call to let them know their order is on it's way. As products are made to order, we need time to prepare them and ensure they packed and put on the truck at the latest possible time before they need to depart. This way it gets to the customer as fresh as possible.

      I know that Harris Farm do stock our products, although I can't comment on the product in the link you sent me, from reading the label, I am unsure of it's origin.       overseas salmon is frozen and thawed, this makes the texture mushy because ice crystals break the cell walls, same problem with most supermarket batches, I buy mine from Tassal shop, it's only refridgerated not frozen.

        Might I add that we never freeze our products, nor is anything imported overseas.

        And I will reiterate, Huon Salmon was founded on the Huon River, Tasmania in 1986 where we are still based. We’ve been farming in Tasmania for close to 30 years.

    Website is a very annoyed with every few sec popup message that someone made purchasing something. No way for me come back and buying anything. I personally prefer to buying from businesses who more respects their customers. Even if it is few $ cost more.
    Maybe COVID affected me?

        We started our online store as a way of getting products direct to customers and get to know them and their feedback. As you can appreciate, the recent pandemic has meant our store has grown a lot with many people now buying their groceries online and feeling more confident with using such services. We want to be the best we can be and provide the best service possible.

      Thanks, that was interesting. I heard about it when it came out. It should be noted that all the 3 major salmon producers didn’t fare any well in the report.

      I wonder how the Danish brand I see in Woolies compares. Can’t remember what they’re called.

      We do need to hold the producers to account to do the best they can. It’s worth noting that mussels are very good for the environment and filter the water, and I think, don’t bioaccumulate heavy metals.

        Check out salmon business on line. Things aren't the best atm over there and the quality of the Danish brand is far inferior to the products Huon sell. I used to work in the aquaculture industry many years ago, here in Vic. and unfortunately, mussels do bioaccumulate heavy metals. Buy from Huon and you'll defs be a happy camper.

    The Reserve Banquet slice is to die for! Have been ordering from Huon Aquaculture on a very regular basis for some time now and cannot fault their customer service. The only thing I'm shattered about is they have put the price of the Huon Salmon Iso-in-Style Pack up…..please bring it back to it's original offer and I'll be all over it again, Very good coverage on Landline last week on the ABC. Good luck and thanks once again for such a great product. BTW….not associated in any way, just stoked that they provide an awesome range of products.

    Love the Huon Premium Cold smoked salmon. Definitely better smoky flavour compared to only salty taste in Tassal.

    However, it was better price when woolies was on special than shop direct.

    Just wondering, what is the difference to buying salmon from the supermarket? We buy the deli salmon at around $28/kg but don’t know what brand it is. Supermarket also sells Huon smoked salmon.

      There is a difference in taste. Try the Huon and see but be warned you may then have to pay more going forward. I like Royal.

Referring to your question about buying salmon from the supermarket, and the prices from the deli, unfortunately we don’t know what metrics the retailers work on when pricing fresh salmon. Companies/producers that sell to retails and wet shops sell at a cost price and the retailer will determine the consumer cost. The retailer may buy salmon from different producers both domestically and internationally or from one producer.

        Thanks for your thorough response. Yeah that’s interesting, I know from my farm childhood that beef and pork is more tender when the animals are relaxed.

        I’ve bought a Family Iso pack, to be delivered next week so I’ll see how the quality is. It’s a good price at the moment. Looking forward to it!
