  • Wth, there is a 4600u as well?

    • Yes there is. There are some Lenovo exclusives ATM.

  • I haven't checked but it's probably cheaper on the Edu store atm

    • EDU store is $1209 ATM.

      • Ah that's a shame

  • Possible to add in more RAM after purchase? Or is it just the one slot for RAM that already has soldered RAM?

  • Wouldn't UI elements too small to read on a 13.3" QHD screen? Has anyone experienced this resolution on a 13.3" screen?

    • MacBook Pro 13? Fine with me - scaling !

    • Windows scaling has gotten a lot better in the past couple years since lots of ultraportables have super high res screens including Microsoft's own Surfaces. Though, it's still not as good as Mac OS' scaling IMO and there are still spots that look super pixelated.

this would've been nice if it had upgradable ram

  • Are these available anywhere in store? I need to check the screen out first.
Alternatively, do lenovo allow returns after box open /powering the unit up?

    • No they are not available at a store level unfortunately. They are very popular at the moment due to the AMD specification.

If you have access to the education store, the model with 16GB for $180 more at $1359

If I could find this with touchscreen
If I could find this with touchscreen and pen
If I could find this with touchscreen, pen and USB 4, it would be perfect for me.

That also has the faster 4800u processor, which is the fastest mobile processor you can get ATM at 15w TDP. I have one on order and the dispatch time has blown out to 4/5 weeks. This one is for those that don't have an EDU account and dispatch time, last time I checked, was two days.

      • Can a normal folk get an education account or do you have to be a student

          • @alvian: Thanks hey , too late but I already took the plunge and got the cheaper 4600u version with 8gb ram. Should last me a few years

  • Thanks for the post - brought my lengthy laptop search to an end :) Nice screen, build and power in a slim 13" laptop to replace my 8 year old VAIO.

I just purchased the 4800U/16GB version on the edu store for $1359 as per posted above. I also got the dock which I think will really help (HDMI) given the lack of ports. This is the US link for some reason the AU link doesn't show the ports.

Very detailed review on the laptop (but note that it only has 8GB with the 4800U) here.

And the 4800U 16GB model is $1205.55 with same unidays 5% off

Is 16gb model worth that extra $$?

  • Looks like Education store reduced their price now, showing this at $1,129 and Ryzen 7 at $1,269.

    • Is ryzen 7 equivalent or better than 10 gen i7?

      • Ryzen 5 and 7 mobile, 4000 series, is better than 10th gen i7 in terms of performance, battery life and pricing. The 4600U/4650U is better than a i7 10875H whilst using a lot less power. The 4800U is better in a lot of benchmarks than a i9-10980HK whilst using a lot less power. You can have a look at an Australian based review and make your own decisions.
