@wolfcchi: I was about to go out for the day when I posted that message. I only had 30 seconds before I had to leave, did a quick search on cancelling orders and it said on the big w website that you can't cancel orders. So I asked the question here just in case it might be difficult to find the right person to call when I got home. However when I did get home I did google, find the number and cancel the order. But I wasn't able to do that at the time so I asked in advance. Not sure when asking a question became a sin on the internet.

No there was no mention of it being a hold price at all. Check the screenshots. It's likely a price error and going to be refunded, but it never stated to be a hold price.
That message was on all the accessories where it specifically stated that you still had XX to pay.
It wasn't on these, especially with the 'Save $99' label.

These price increases the publishers want us to pay this new gen are pushing me more and more away from bothering with day one purchases ever ever again.
Yep it's frustrating, why are we paying the extra, it's not like there making them exclusively for next gen, they are cross generation releases and should remain consistent with current pricing, not to mention the extra $ most of these publishers make off micro transactions. Ut then again I know people that pay the full price of a digital download from PSN on release day. A step forward in technology and a step backward in game pricing.
Probably cause games have become cheaper than previous gen but take considerably more time and money to develop
To be honest I don't mind a $10 increase, as they mentioned but seems as though most I have seen have been selling for $89. At some point they need to go up with inflation and I don't expect them to stay at $69.
@eggaz: Not sure why you got negged, nobody wants to pay more for games but yes inflation and the like will drive the price up, for quality games I dont mind either.
The user base has increased as well, so if they keep the price more people will buy them and its not like if more people buy the game the company's costs increase, they dont but revenue/profit does.
Few people seem to remember, but it was exactly the same at the launch of the PS4/XBONE. Games were all on preorder for $109.95 RRP. It will normalise. Already is.

Yeh I don’t get the naysayers. There is 99% chance that it’s refunded. But there is still the off chance they let it go or send a voucher for future use. For the sake of $13 off my credit card for a few days, I’ll happily take the gamble. I’ve seen enough price errors actually be honoured to take a small gamble every now and then. It’s not like it’s a large sum of money you’re waiting to be reversed if it falls through.

I have to say the online purchase with Big W is a nightmare, especially with woolworths gift card. I placed an order for Thrustmaster Xbox One T-Flight Hotas One Flight Sticks a FULL month ago. They canceled my order after 2 weeks without notice.
And now after 18 days I still have not get refunded. Even though I have been chasing through phone calls and emails. Every time they just told me to wait 24-48-72 hours, with no explanation how refund processing can be so tedious.
I ended up lodgong a complaint with Fair Trading in the hope to get 100 dollars back! It is not even a huge amount and think about all the time I spent on getting it back.
They are clearly having technical issues with refund to gift cards. Use PayPal or credit card so you can charge back. Good luck guys, hope you won't go though the same.
