$50K PS5s on eBay Getting Bids?

People selling their PS5 pre-orders on Ebay for thousands of dollars. I find it hard to believe that any of these sales would actually go through. Doesn't make sense to bid on something when it's also listed as 'buy it now' 50x cheaper.

Curious as to what people think really happens here? Anyone even know of real cases of people actually pulling off a rort like this?

Guy in the states has created a bot that
    1) Creates an Ebay account
    2) searches for high priced Consoles and GPU's (the recently sold ones)
    3) Auto bids a high amount and keeps bidding until auction is over

when auction ends account is ignored, seller relists bot starts again.

        yeah i love it

    • That's pretty funny.

    • justice and karma delivered by bot, that's great

    • Feel sorry for anyone selling signed consoles for charity, with this bot killing the listings that they could have paid money to a PR company to hype up.

I've got a hard limit of 30k per each next gen console on eBay.

  • That why most scalpers have now switched to using 'Buy it now' on Ebay.

Except if the seller requires immediate payment with BIN

  • Must be the disc version.

  • And I assume that also comes with a rare woolworths Ooshie

    • For an extra $25k, sure.
