  • Anyone else find they have to trim a bit off these belts every couple of weeks because the buckle tears the leather so it doesn't grip anymore?

I have one of these ratchet belts, and no issue with slippage even after 6 months use.

Maybe you are putting them under too much strain?

Didn't bother to trim, just had more belt to slip through the eyes.

    • As in the fixed end…yes.

    • Yes, it's a bit of a nuisance.

      • Check inside the end. Sometime a small strip gets stuck in there and then the belt no longer reaches all the way to the end. Also thought about a small dob of silicone to keep the clasp closed.

        • Good point, I'll usually keep attempting to make the claws work until a 1cm chunk of the belt is ripped off, then I will cut it.

Usually I find these belts are cracked and ruined by the time the length becomes an issue, I really should just buy better quality…

I don’t even need a belt these days anymore. COVID iso helped me to bulk up my waist line, hence saving my money on belts.

    • I just tie an onion to my belt

Isn't that more of a style choice?

        • My mistake, I used to tie an onion to my belt, which was the fashion at the time

  • You can get these on Aliexpress for like $9?

  • Thanks OP ordered one

  • Genuine leather is the worst grade of leather, right?
