Attaching a link to an article such as this http://www.cnet.com.au/why-all-hdmi-cables-are-the-same-3393… should be required with any hdmi cable "sale" i think.

    • I agree! I was gonna post that link! lol!

      • i sort of agree with it, but what happens if your joining cables? i have a 1.4 running under the house 10 meters, joined it with a cable on each side, and i get nada. i improved the small cables and all of a sudden, got most of a picture.

so yes in most cases, 1-2 meters from your DVD player to your TV, no issue. (or even 5 for that matter)
however start running cables though walls, longer distance or joining, and your gonna want cables that are good as possible.

going to have to replace that 10 meter cable under the house now :(

Can you run a similar deal for longer cables ??

    Say 3m or 5m?

Good thing that you can read feedback on eBay :P

Stefce, must read article for everyone ;)

  • I was at JB HI FI the other day, and they were selling PS3 HDMI cables for $47.95.

    I was so mad, they weren't 15-20m either, just standard 3m cables…what a gouge.

giftme5 - just wanted to say a huge thx for putting this up. I have just moved into the digital era (blu-ray, xBox360 & LED TV) and had no idea re: cables. I had read many articles/reviews on the net and was getting worried that I had to fork out a fortune (which I can not afford). Based on the Cnet article that Stefce posted I confidently made the purchase.

My family thanks you and OzB wholeheartedly. d:-)

  • Good to know these use a 28AWG wire gauge. Positive from me.

    • FYI somewhat related: from wiki.
A cable of about 5 meters (16 ft) can be manufactured to Category 1 specifications easily and inexpensively by using 28 AWG (0.081 mm²) conductors.[60] With better quality construction and materials, including 24 AWG (0.205 mm²) conductors,a HDMI cable can reach lengths of up to 15 meters.

  • Edit - wrong bargain. my bad, excuse my neg vote.

For those wanting longer cables, they even have 10m hdmi for the low price of just $928.45. Post if free of course.

I wonder if they actually DO sell any of those.

    • Sorry, We are temporary out of stock, please email us for enquiry

It's just a placeholder price while they're out of stock.
