Sweeet. Thanks. Their Porter St is delicious with milk.

    • From here:

Yeah, cancellation button is easily locatable when you're logged in to the website.

      • Found it! It says Manage Subscriptions. Thanks

    • Agreed. Got the Porter St for free when I bought my machine and it is delicious. Will definitely get another lot.

      • I got the Trailblazer this time. Haven't had a medium bodied coffee in a long time and the Arjo coffee I got is keeping me up at night lolz

  • Glad this deal is back, i've missed these beans. Love the Porter St, great for both espresso and milk. Rich flavour and crema.

  • Thanks. Ordered. Doesn’t work on 1kg subs, worked on 2 x 500g home sub. After discount $24kg

    • How did you get 2 x 500g?

      • +1

Follow link and select two 500g bags in the subscription link.

        • Is it possible to change it to 1kg for subsequent deliveries? 500g won’t last long :(

          • @Flowerbomb: They sell them in 250g bags lol.
You'll get 4 if you order 1kg. Just change it to 2x500g.

            • @Orico: Cool thanks, wasn’t sure if you could change the quantity after ordering!

              • @Flowerbomb: Go to Manage Subscriptions. You can change the subscription amount and type of coffee there.

  • just placed subscription for single origin filter. Good stuff op.
I wonder how did you get this promotion info? is it from quiip.com.au, I never heard about Quiip.

  • Thanks Neil, good to see them back with a deal like this!

  • How does this compare to Inglewood?

    • +1

      both taste great.
I like my coffee with milk, tried both P&R's Porter St and Inglewood's Sunset Blvd.

At this price I will definitely go with P&R!
Beans were definitely fresh, premium packaging, smaller packages 500g.
Shipped from NSW and received on the next day.

Inglewood gives freebies I received tea tin :)

    • I find this is better.

  • Fantastic deal, thanks

  • Trailblazer with milk is excellent, especially at this price

  • Great deal. I also got a few kgs of this from a promo and thought “eh how good could it be”. Best coffee I’ve ever tried (at home). Couldn’t recommend enough!

    • Which flavour did you like?

  • Tried Pioneer, Porter St and Trailblazer when they had the Amex deal a few months back. Loved Trailblazer and haven’t found anything better than that ever since!

    • Try the single origin coffee.

      • Haven’t specifically tried P&R single origin but generally prefer blends over single origin I’ve found for my personal taste buds.

  • Just bought my first bag of porter st. I’m so addicted to coffee, so hopefully this will be good. Thanks OP

Best coffer beans I've ever had.

Just got two packs of trailblazer from their father's day deal.
I've tried the porter st earlier, both porter st and trailblazer are great.
Porter St is slightly stronger than the trailblazer from my opinion.
I like making my flat white with trailblazer the most.

I would try the few rest of this brand before starting my subscribtion.
(paying the postage to try all the different types is such a pain)

P&R brand is much much more better than the most brands I got from supermarkets.

  • I am actually having these beans (Porter St) at the moment, free from the Breville coffee machine purchase.

I don't find this superior compared to the Aldi coffee beans which some of bargainers recommended in other coffee bean deals. I found it to be weak, bland.

Maybe I am doing it wrong, keen to hear others who have the Breville Barista express and are making great coffees out of these beans? What settings do you use etc.

    • Would like to know this as well for the barista pro.

    • +1

I put my grind setting on 9, w/18 grams of beans

It is about 20s from first drip which is good

      • Any adjustment to the top burr or is it on factory default?

      • Wow … what beans are you using? for grind setting my pour is watery and quick. Im using Inglewood SunsetBlvd beans, after some playing around, my grind is at 6 and 16gms my coffee tastes great for me atleast.

        • Same here with 9.

          Will try your setting next.

      • Thanks mate, I just tried this setting this morning. 18g with grind setting at 9, took about 10 secs from first drip to finish. (I pressed as hard as I can, but it's not making a lot of difference).

  • Just ordered but the next charge date is showing as full price, will the discount still apply when they charge my card ?

    • +1

I think delivery schedule always shows full price.

  • Ordered single origin last time (Amex offer), nothing special, so just trying out the blends this time. $40 for 1.5kg of local/fresh roast is good value.

  • Ordered but my subscription is showing my future deliveries at full price - how do you apply this to the next 3 deliveries?

  • Anyone tried their decaf?

    • +2

It's our favourite decaf we've tried but only buy when on special. Sicilia and agro beans decaf are good too and not too far behind, often at very good prices

    • +1

Another +1 for their decaf. Have tried that and Porter St and like them both equally. Just noticed they have a different decaf blend now though. Previously tried the Serrania (Colombia) one, but the Amazonia sounds like it has similar tasting notes (both mention butterscotch and chocolate/cocoa) so wouldn't hesitate to give that a go. Too bad I missed the deal or I would have ordered some…

  • still have 1kg to consume. Subscribed anyway doubt the coupon code will last until December 31 (ozbargained).

And there's a guy trying to sell code like these for $15

Nooooooo… Was too slow (still waking up/have not had coffee yet).

  • Shame, it worked last night after I added to cart but decided against pulling the trigger so quickly as I still have lot of beans

  • +6

    I obviously misunderstood this:

    Offer Expires: 31st December 2020

    • Same, I came back to order today and noticed it expired??? :(

  • -1

I don't know where I put the code at checkout?

  • Missed out unfortunately. It’s been a long time since we had one of these.
Very good customer service and subscription system is easy to use. Porter St is the go-to choice for me.

  • Anyone has it shipped out yet?

    • Nope, still saying 'unfulfilled' and future scheduled deliveries are showing as full price.

      • Can a rep confirm if the half price will continue for the next 3 months?

      • +1

        From FAQ:

Your discount code won't show up on your account and notifications as the default price will sync through. However, you will only be charged the discounted rate for the duration of what the discount code holds.

If in the unlikely event that you do get charged full price within the duration of the discount code, please email [email protected] and one of our friendly support team members will review and get back to you shortly.

    • Amendments on existing subscriptions must be made by Tuesday 5pm (Sydney time).
Existing recurring orders will be dispatched every Wednesday (depending on your frequency).

This was posted Thursday so expect orders to be shipped 30/9.

  • My order was shipped on Friday, should receive it tomorrow.

  • got mine today! i have way too much coffee…

  • Got mine today, roasted 25 Sep. Very fresh!! I always end up wasting half a bag trying to dial the grinder in.

    • Setting 5 on a Breville espresso machine works with most coffees.

      • when I dialled in 5, the pressure gauge was on the lower end. Tried 4 and it got straight to the middle, but I guess that also depends on how you tamp it.

        • +1

Also depends on the amount of coffee you add. Around 18-21 grams is good.

For me, trailblazer needs the setting 7 to go past the middle and before the limit. I wasted 60 grams of coffee trying to dial it in correctly.
Just reminds me how shit the Breville grinder is compared to the $800 grinder my uncle uses.

          how you tamp it.

As lightly as possible for these coffees.

          • @Orico: can you elaborate? I give it a good push, might explain why I need such a low setting. Whenever I lightly tamp it, the pressure reading is very low.

            • +1

@k1ng: If you have to give it a good push, your espresso will find it harder to be extracted and you'll get a slightly burnt taste. The pre-infusion step will generally be longer as the water penetrates the bed of the espresso. For appliance grade machines you never have to give it a strong tamp unless your coffee is so stale. Commercial machines have a very strong pump that can smash through the coffee bed after it has been tamped with a lot of force.

When you remove the porter filter from the machine after extraction, is the ground coffee dry or still wet?
if it's soft and wet you need to increase your dose; if it's firm and dry you need to make the grind finer.
Try increasing the grind setting (so make it more coarse, 5, 6 or 7) then give it a light tamp. Turn your grind amount to the lowest or 2nd lowest setting.
I am strictly talking about Trailblazer, though. I can't remember what I used for the Porter St blend (probably 5).

              • @Orico: Thank you, followed your advice and managed a decent shot at grind size 5, and grind amount 2nd lowest, lightly tamped and got the pressure right in the middle, for the Porter St. Previously my grind amount was at 3 o clock position.

                • @k1ng: For porter st I use Grind setting of 6 with 18.5g in, light tamp and get 40g out in 35sec. Hope that helps.

  • Does anyone use a nutribullet to blend the coffee beans?

    • I don't use it because coffee grinders should funnel everything down a small aperture. Nutribullet just flings it in the air and it's not consistent. You end up with large and small bits of coffee.

  • Just noticed P&R is in my Amex Offers for this month: Spend $24 or more, get $5 back, up to 6x, Expires Dec 2. Have a look at your Amex offers.

    • so annoying when they expire the offer before the date

edit: had two other 50% promo codes confirmed working a month ago but also cancelled.
