Ensso Giro Ballpoint Pen - Titanium US$58.65 (~A$83.60) Delivered @ Ensso

90
THANKS15

Not a bargain in everyone's view, but this is a very unique ballpoint pen made from a solid lump of titanium.
It is discounted from US$99 down to $69 and the voucher code THANKS15 takes another 15% off, bringing it to US$58.65. Use a credit card that does not charge for Fx fees to pay.
Ensso is a niche manufacturer, so it's not a mass market pen like say Lamy, Mont Blanc etc.
It comes with or without a pocket clip. Got mine with to stop it rolling off the desk.
Takes standard Parker ballpoint refills.
Part of a kickstarter project and only available direct from Ensso until 25th Sep (US time zone) at this price.

It would make a unique gift for someone you love:)

  • can you write upside down like the pressurized fisher pens?

And are refills easy to get for this pen?

Trying to build my ultimate every day backpack and reduce weight as much as possible

You won't be saving weight with this, it's made from Titanium and is quite heavy.
Refills are standard Parker type, as mentioned in the OP

I jsut noticed the weight its like 40-50grams which is pretty stupid.

The point of Titanium is usually to save weight.

Most parker pens are around the 20gram mark.

Most parker pens are around the 20gram mark.

This got me thinking - it doesn't take much - so I weighed my Parker Sonnet, it's 28g. If the titanium one is at the lower end of the 40-50g range then it's not too bad for a chunky looking pen. But yes, titanium generally implies light weight for most things so in this case the only perceived benefit might be…bragging rights?

        • 40-50g?

not sure if they were trying to make a kubotan/pen there lol

Not pressurized so no, but I've had bad experiences with the fisher pens, always leaking and blotching.

      • Got a titanium embassy pen with fisher refill, never leaked. It's ~64g with cap. Light compared to the brass version, but then heavier than the aluminium. Aluminium is soft though.

Titanium is cool ! like a fez

The problem with most of this pens is that they are so slippery that you can hold them. This one looks particularly bad.

  • Just arrived today. Finish has fine ridges, very sleek to hold. Not slippery at all, feels very premium. Heavy and weighted perfectly.
If anything a little short, better for smaller hands.
