Genuine Windows 10 Key?

Hoping for some help, I can only find two stores selling genuine digital Windows 10 Home keys, the microsoft website for $225

or Officeworks for $223:
https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/microsoft-…

Is there anywhere else that has it for cheaper? Just annoyed with the "activate windows" wording that stays on the screen.

Thanks!

    • Hello (btw I didn’t downvote you).
Thanks for the reply, is there one on eBay which is genuine though?

Some of these keys just come from other countries where Windows licenses are cheaper. These are referred to as “gray market” keys. They may be genuine, but they were sold for cheaper in other countries.

If you have a Windows 7 product key you can use that.

I remember buying my Key off eBay for like $2, it didn't work the first time but the seller issued me another key inwhich that one ended up working

If you built the computer a system builder key should be cheaper.

The grey market alternatives will usually activate, but you will usually be breaking the terms and condition of that licence, meaning your copy is still pirated.

I have not heard of Microsoft cracking down on misused licences for over a decade. Their strategy with Win 10 was install every where to enable monetisation with the additional 'features' built into Win 10.

But, one of those features is phoning home silly amounts of data, so it is very silly to pirate Win 10 for anything connected to the internet.

  • Pay hundreds of dollars like all the other non savvy people

Hard rubbish on a footpath near you. :-)

IOW, look for PC's out for hard rubbish, you just might find one with W10 installed.

And no, I don't recommend it, just a wild thought.

  • All Windows keys, whether they're $2 ones from eBay or $200 ones from stores, are genuine - that is, they came from Microsoft.

The issue is whether the keys are legitimate. The expensive ones will always be, but the cheap ones are almost certainly second hand and usually being sold against the terms on which they were originally acquired, or they are volume licence keys definitely being sold against the terms they were sold under.

  • My go to is https://lodgenorth.com. Often has deals for Windows + Office

    • I know this thread is old but I’m looking for the same thing. Is that site legit? Seems too good to be true!

  • Can also try online marketplaces like Kinguin
