I built the Lepin (knock off Lego) set of this, great fun.

    • how much was it? those are usually great value

        Cheap does not equal value.

You're right, value equates to whatever the purchaser subjectively defines it as.

  • Turn on email reminder for when it’s back in stock.

I did this a few days ago and it’s come back in stock 4-5 times over a few days. Today I was quick enough to get it!

    • Sometimes I can turn on reminders, other times I can't. Not sure where I'm getting stuck with that.

Yes, that happens when there is another seller in addition to Amazon. Right now there is one at $900+ so email notification is not available.

        • Bummer, thanks for confirming that. That was my suspicion. What a pain. The times I have set notifications I've been very successful in getting in quickly while stock is available.

i built the Lepin Porsche 911 and was surprised by the quality, i think it was about $130 and whilst it wasn't the perfect fit that LEGO has, all the parts were there and the instructions were reasonable. The downside is that Lepin is basically unsellable on the used market, whereas LEGO will maintain its value as a set, even in used condition. I think Mould King is the new Lepin.

    • Where from?

    • You're right about the Lepin. The $500 full RRP 911 set now sells for $600 on average used. You could have made $100 rather than spent $130.

      • Was not a fan of the 911 looks so did not buy. I see some selling for as much as $850.

The Bugatti set I bought about 12m ago is sitting in the box. Get around to it one day … the 9800 Liebehrr has taken me 6m to complete (about to start the final bags) - I don't mind taking my time, enjoy looking at it partially complete.
