My mrs is an architect but left her job about 10 years ago to be a full time mom. Now our younger one is starting school so she will be able to go back to work. Recently she completed her cert IV of building and construction as well.
So please share your thoughts how to go about job hunt?

Reach out to previous connections. Its the best way to go about it. 10 years out of work and trying to get back into work in a recession environment is going to be difficult than ever.
Use all connections you have.
Gonna be hard…. 10 year gap on her resume. Better start applying for work experience/internships and rebuild her portfolio unless she has connections that can get her straight in.
What does she want to do? Is it going to be as an Architect again? Then she will likely need to re-register with the board. What are her skills and experience in the field. What she good at?
I think any Architectural company will want specific needs at this time. Drafting or Contract admin, design and townplanning applucations. Update CV, and target it to the job description. Seek is her friend. Also calling and going into offices to see HR and dropping off CV.
Try past connections as mentioned by others a good idea as well. Good luck

Did she have to move to America to take this position?
just apply for any job in the public service. see if tafe or teaching are hiring. then apply for public service jobs within her field while in the public service.
if you cannot get a direct job ofer, you need to try other avenues.
