mmm time to live off sprite and poptarts for the next few weeks

  • Nice one op. Haven’t had sprite in ages

  • Any no sugar deals except coke?

  • Thanks OP. Good price. Ordered

I prefer wine with my hamburgers.

Love how this now contains artificial sweetners in it. Wrecked it!

    • what was originally in it?

      • +3

100% sweetened by sugar. No more, though. We don't even get the choice, and it tastes dreadful. Fanta too (in fact, that's even worse).

        • +2

          Fanta is completely wrecked.

      • +1

Nope. This is a move by Coca Cola to reduce the amount of sugar in their products.

  • Thanks OP.
    Good price. Ordered one.

    And it's back to 14.40

  • Ordered one. Thanks OP. Pretty sure I hate this drink though.

Caterers and shop owners buying doesn't help…

  • +3

You know this sprite tastes a lot like the 7up from KFC.

    • +1

Oh, no. Patented Coca-Cola Conpany recipe!

  • Dann, missed it. Been waiting for price drop on this.

Has anyone else noticed Sprite tastes different to how it used to, now they've reduced the sugar and replaced with stevia…?

    • +1

They used a new formula with the new packaging.

    • Yes and its awful.
Gives me tummyache and tastes bad.
At this point I actively avoid Sprite or choose 7up instead…

    • +3

Total bummer - traditional sprite no longer exists. Can't stand the taste of stevia!

I'm all for food and drink companies reducing sugar in things to improve people's health and wellbeing. But I personally would prefer smaller serves of the full sugared thing, or things that have less sugar and just don't taste as sweet, instead of that nasty tangy sickly stevia taste. It's in everything these days! Packaging always says 'no artificial sweetener'. For me it's essentially the same thing.

      • +1

This doesn't contain stevia. It's artificial sweetners.

    • +1

It's not stevia - that's Fanta. For Sprite they use artificial sweetners 955 and 950.

  • Amazon can jump in a lake.

  • It's $11 at Coles this week as well, saw it this evening.

  • +1

They added some lime that’s prob the reason for the succulent taste

    • Sprite has always been a lemon-lime drink.

Only thing that's changed is sugar reduced, and stevia added to replace it, making it taste shit.

      • +1

        It's not stevia. It's artificial sweetners 950 and 955

        • Oh true. I just assumed. The point remains that it tastes crap and has always been lemon-lime.

I don't drink soft drinks due to health concerns. They can cause a variety of health problems from serious internal issues such as kidney stones and diabetes to more visible external complications like tooth decay and weight gain. As the age-old adage goes, soda is the devil.

    • Everyone knows this, but people will still drink it.

      • Not me and many others.
