    • +3

But is it express shipping? I'd pay $1.2 more for express.

At least with good guys I can pick up.

Normal auspost shipping these days will take weeks

  • more and more cheaper

  • Is that Australian or International stock?

    • +9

      100% Australian Stock.

  • +22

Waiting for $369 for no other reason than 69

    • Put 3 together, it’s a party ;-)

      • +1

369? Is the 3 suppose to be someone's…gonads?

  • +1

Now it is the battle of who can make the XM4s cheaper, Mobileciti hits back at the good guys now who is gonna win the fight?

  • -1

Op can you give us under 300. Peace out :)

    • +10

      Ya dreaming mate

      • +4

that's what I thought as well with the WF-1000XM3 and Addicted2Audio delivers so …

        • +2

That's last gen tho and WF is cheaper because its earbuds, when XM5s come out then these will be sub $300

          • @jayboi: nah think it was when they were still going for $300+ and A2A matches eBay sale for $200

            • +1

@ln28909: sub 300 would definitely be below cost. im pretty sure retailers buy this for around $330, based on Sonys commercial pricing..

  • +4

sony dropping their price to increase sales before the airpods studio announcement 13 Oct..

    • +4

I think it's just competition between stores trying to get some sales cuz that rrp is inflated af

      • well that too.. but when a big player like Apple is releasing a direct competition product next week, Sony gotta act to take the dollar first before the customer decides to have a peak at Apple's offering..

      • you have to realize as much as the retailers want to compete, when selling products from big companies like Sony, retailers have little to no control on how much discount they can offer, Sony has to give the final say on the discount and it will usually be communicated across the board to be fair to all retailers.. so I'm sure this is Sony's decision..

        • +3

highly doubt it… these retailers are price matching TGG ebay which conveniently has a 15% off sale on right now ($378.25 after discount). check Sonys website, the headphones haven't even been discounted 1 cent

          • @skido: so you think it's just a coincidence that retailers decided to throw a discount for a 3-4 month old product on the day Apple sends out their invite for next week's announcement?

            • +2

@davtoh: have you checked the prices on jbhifi, tgg (non ebay), harvey norman, officeworks, david jones, myer, amazon?

the prices are no where near the discounted prices by addicted to audio and mobileciti (exclude tgg ebay). If Sony communicated the price across the board, shouldnt large retailers be offering these discounts as well? just think about it for a moment

        • +2

As someone who works in retail, we have certain thresholds that we need to meet to not be making a loss on the products we're selling. This isn't due to the manufacturers (i.e. Sony's) pricing but simply due to the minimum amounts we have that we can drop a price down to before experiencing a loss.

What you're seeing with these price drops is simply retailers exercising those minimums that would usually come about as the items shelf value decreases. This is solely due to the fact that one retailer is deciding to drop their price.

        • This is incorrect. There is an anticompetion law exactly against this. This is considered price fixing.

        • Even if you are right, that only means retailers might have similar purchasing price or are bond to certain rules about giving discount in general. Put it this way they may not be able to sell it for $300 at the moment for whatever reason, it is still their choice to sell it at 459 or 399 or 359 or even 335 (all these prices are genuine from jb hifi, jb hifi commercial website and jb hifi commercial after a bit chat), and I was offered $400 in one jb hifi store yesterday and 429 in another today.

Not matter if retailers have ultimate control on setting price, as a buyer you can only expect to get the same product as cheap as possible and retailers are not going to tell you what is the cheapest price they can offer, or they just tell you this is the best price which usually isn’t.

          • @wolfazrael123: It's not that simple. People think if you buy a product for $330 and sell it for $335 that you are making a profit. As a retailer you aren't. You have to try and factor all of your costs in, rent, advertising, wages, freight, returns, power & water etc. and assign that out over your products to work out what your true 'cost price' is. It's hard to work out on a particular product precisely where you are making enough margin to be profitable. Well run businesses have a complex formula for this and it might be anywhere (in this case) from say $360 to full retail, or in some cases full retail might not be enough to turn a profit if your business costs are high.
Sure you could 'choose' to sell it at $330, or even $50, but you would be losing money, so it isn't a 'choice' so much as what makes sense for the business to stay, well, in business.

    XM5 incoming…

  • +3

Price match JB hifi and use 5% off voucher

    • +2

      Or just officeworks

      • -3

Either but JB Hi Fi is better than OW.

        • +1

Don't think price match works on Coupons/codes

          • +1

@wise penny: Generally nothing works unless JB Employees are in a good mood. So once in a blue moon.

addictedtoaudio = no coupon. Direct discount. Physical address. Surely they can't deny a price beat?

            • +1

@plague69: Oh yes. Agree with JB w.r.t staff mood. Price matching with addictedtoaudio should be plausible with both JB and OW

        • Sorry, I was meant to say JB Hi FI with 5% discount coupon would be better than OW.

      • +1

says on their site for price beat exclusions:

"Cashback and coupon offers (i.e. supplier cashback or reduced price available via paper coupon or electronic codeword)"

  • +1

These seems to be very famous and good.

Mobileciti is a brand that often appears in the scam call.

    • +6

This is a known scam and isn't from this particular Mobileciti. Related forum post.

Given a few retails are now selling the XM4 at around $370-380
Probably it may drop to near $300 in late Nov Thanks giving or late Dec Boxing day sales

Will continue enjoy my XM3 now and wait for the price to drop further

    • No hurry, I got mine a few hours ago, and you can't even use LDAC whilst being connected to two devices.

  • can we go any cheaper?

    • OW price match with A2A

    • +3

Yes, although people should support small businesses when they take the initiative to offer these deals, but for the really tight arses, you can goto Sony to price match online and get 2% cash back from CR or Shopback, effectively ~$7 off.

  • Just when I paid $378.20…hahaha

  • JB Hi Fi w/ 5% discount docket - $358.15
    OW w/ PBG (5%) - $358.15
    ATA or A2A - $378.20

    • Hi Just wonder how to get 5% off from JBhifi? Gift card?

        • Thank you very much for this extra deal.

My local JB just price matched and allowed the extra discount. $358.15 for a new set of MX4's.

          • @Spinniker: Wow. I called 3 of my local stores and non of them will even price beat it. Which store you called and how much extra discount you got?

            • @marc171: Charlestown refused to price match.

Glendale agreed after I went into store and asked nicely. Had to discuss with the manger and showed them this thread.

Agreed to price match the $377 plus I used the 5% coupon for today only.

              • @Spinniker: Lucky you. I am in victoria and all our stores are closed here due to lockdown. Best i could get was price beat on the Good Guys deal and ebay issued a voucher for the remaining 5% so $359.29. Pretty close. But good job on discussing with the manager at JB Hi Fi. Have always find they are a hit and miss.

  • Which courier company mobileciti uses?

"Australia Post, StarTrack and also use reputable courier companies including Couriers Please and Fastway.".

So "Auspost", "Auspost" and also use courier companies including "OkaySoso Lucky draw based on contractor" and "If it arrives damaged, just be happy it arrived"

      • thumbs down Aus Post. I have an order and it is still @ depot (sydney) since 3 weeks ago.

  • -1

how do i order for $377?

    • +8

OMFG, Use the COUPON CODE, read the post before commenting about the price being incorrect
You made an account just to post a comment about it not working LOL

      • +2

haha sorry mate, didn't know there was a coupon code

but it worked out though, my comment led to your comment which helped me out, cheers

        • Ok

        • +3

Welcome to OZB, where everyone learns to read 3x before asking questions lol

          • +1

@plague69: OzB rule, if you spent too much time reading, you might miss out on the deal with dreaded OOS 😱 . Opposite also applies, you might end up paying the despised “RRP” without the discount notes 😭.

      • Instruction leaflets might also be skipped, and post comment to ask mine xm4 doesn’t work.

  • is QC35 better or this?

    • +3

I can't comment on the QC35's but I wouldn't recommend the XM4's if one of your top criteria is call quality and work use (zoom, webex etc). I had these and found them terrible for work conference calls and mobile calls in general. Was constantly getting complaints that they couldn't hear me or that I was muffled etc. I ended up returning the XM4's and have gone back to Bose 700's, which are by no means perfect with dodgy firmware and Bluetooth connections etc. But in terms of call quality and preventing noise being picked up in the microphone while on a call, the Bose are by far superior.

      • I disagree. I have the xm4 and use it for mainly for work and calls, and the call quality is clear. You might need to adjust your setting on you pc or re-pair the connection.

        • Maybe there are faulty units in circulation. I bought xm4’s 2 days ago. Teams and pc was unusable. Thought that can come down to Bluetooth profile support.
Also had every person I spoke to on iPhone8 with the headset say it was bad. I came from using a Aeropex headset with zero complaints. Spoke with Sony support, firmware latest, resets, who agreed it sounded bad but said that’s how they are. On that lovely note from Sony, I returned the XM4’s feeling very disappointed. I’m sure I had a faulty one as my friend’s xm3 didn’t sound that bad. I’ll likely go down the Bose 700 path.

    • +1

I have the QC35 (not the ii, but no diff except for an extra button as far as I can tell)

If you intend to use with MacBook even in bootcamp, I wouldn't recommend it. Android and iPhoneOS are smooth as butter and noise cancelling is top notch for flights (not like we get the chance these days).

I call from them all the time, never had a complaint except when I ported out of Telstra for Kogan and was stuck on Vodas non existent 3G network (to port back for a gift card)

End of the day. If you had a hundred extra dollars, would you have any use for it? Lol

  • Hi Op, any discount on the WF-1000XM3? Thanks.

  • Compared to ear muffs how good are noise cancelling.

    • I've used both, one from a timber workshop and the XM4's in JB-HI-FI and I would actually say they are about the same, however, I wasn't really in the same environment when testing.

  • Tried with JB HI Fi and office works…none price matched. They said if there is a coupon involved they don`t price match.
