    Not really a deal imo

    • It's about normal price I think? I don't watch it but I seem to pay this every time I buy these fans.

  • plus GST?

    • no its the total price. I ordered 4 of these afew months ago and the shipping was ok also(about a week). If your after these fans its good to grab them from newegg while they are in stock at the taiwan location and not u.s since the us shipping is 60-ish.

      • Checkout its charging me GST even on the final page. Does it get removed in the actual charge?

        • 39.60x4+9(shipping)=167.40

That what my reciept shows. So yeah no extra gst for me.
Edit: I mean GST in included in the price already.

Better value and near same performance with Arctic P12 PWM's, they're regularly on Amazon for under $10 each

Quick look on the googles gives me P12 PWM White version for $9.77

not nearly on the same level, below average fans vs arguably the best fans available today when you consider noise to performance ratio.

      • Arguably price to performance-wise p12 are a better bang for your buck

        • +2

Not if you want the best fans available and money is no object, the arctic fans have a whine that makes your system extremely noisy, if you want no noise then these are what you want. the arctics are basically a waste of money when you take noise into consideration.

The more fans you use the whine becomes multiplicative.

          • @garetz: This website is Oz-Bargain not RRP.

Don't get me wrong, the NF-A12x25's are brilliant but there are many videos out there showcasing the noise both in dBA and literal playback, and the whine is around the 1000 rpm mark (not at 1250 rpm where it is the same noise-normalised 35dBA).

@NigerianGirthLord: In the video he specifically states to go for the noctua over the arctic unless your budget conscious which is exactly what i said already and got negged for.

              • +1

@garetz: Except you got negged for calling them below average fans, yet in the video and many others, it performs the same if not better than the Noctua's in thermals and acoustics (35 dBA especially).

Also, he says he'd personally pick the Noctua's (most acoustically appealing fans), yet he mentioned a few times the best value (p12's).

Why do I have a feeling you've bought $120+ worth of these fans and are trying to justify the purchase? Regardless of the fact that 3 Arctic P12's would've been ~$30

                • @NigerianGirthLord: Lol these fans are still cheap as when you compare with Corsair RGB fans

Best value vs if you should use it or not are different thing,

If A performs at 10 and price at 1, therefore 10:1 performance to price

B performs at 50 and price at 50, therefore 1:1 ratio

Doesn't mean you always choose A, i.e. your system needs 20 minimum, so best value usually doesn't mean much if you're looking for quality

              • @garetz: Wow garetz, you have no idea how bad you're coming across right now.

"when you consider noise to performance ratio"
"if you want the best fans available and money is no object"
"arctics are basically a waste of money when you take noise into consideration"

                Where to begin…

You know what, I'm not going to get into it, anymore… LOL

          • @garetz: The Arctic P12s are not as good as these, but they are absolutely not below average. This has been proven repeatedly by objective testing which can be found online.

the arctic fans have a whine that makes your system extremely noisy

Curious what info this is based on? From my own 2 units and all the reviews I've seen I haven't seen this mentioned.

            • @jp1011: like the majority of fans arctics have a speed at which they are audible - and can whine slightly. In the review above its 1 k, at 900 silent 1100 silent.

the review above still says they are incredible fans - specially for the money.

the review runs them at 1700 which was interesting because they were still quiet!

since u could buy 3 arctics for 1 noctua I've used them for over a decade - quite often 5 to a case - effectively silent. use more at low speed - they just keep going as long as u clean em every couple of years - so cheap for 5 years plus. it gets hot in WA.

ps i found i could get a whine from one or 2 noctuas as well at certain speeds but that is a build flaw. one noctua whined a lot after 4/5 years which surprised me because i had so many arctics which didn't.

              • @petry: If your uefi fan control software is sophisticated enough(let's you use more than 3 points on a fan curve) you can set it to completely skip 1000rpm and just go straight from say 950rpm to 1050rpm. Surprised arctic hasn't programmed that into their pwm controller.

                • @thorman: yeah i know but people like to find fault with arctic fans for reasons undeclared. Was just trying to clarify all fans have speeds which can cause more noise, and that u can set them up in a variety of ways to avoid the issue - with fan controllers, limiters, and board fan control software. Arctic issue is real easy to avoid and so quiet and efficient for the old price really is a no brainer - sadly increased demand is producing price rises! glad i bought some stock way back.

      • Both good fans but the beige brown works perfect for my no RGB system in white case. Feels nineties man. Love it

      • The P12s are demonstrably not “below average”. They are one of the best fans on the market and only slightly behind the Noctuas in terms of noise and performance.

Have a look at any number of the YouTube reviews where they compare the two.

    • Thank you. Was about to order some Noctuas.

I've never bought a noctua fan before but with all the hype around them I nearly purchased one for $25 a few weeks ago. This is either not a deal at all or I had a fantastic deal at the time and never realised. Unless the models vary significantly in price to performance but the one I had was the same size and looked exactly the same.

    • Most models have significant difference.

    • You're probably thinking of the NF-A9 as when I saw this deal I thought I'd gotten it cheaper as well but it was the A9 not the A12 I bought for $26 in Nov last year. Mind you it's now listed for $37 on Amazon so perhaps prices have gone up as well?

  • +5

Not a great deal but better than most AUS suppliers so give him a break. B+

  • +1

Cheapest on staticice is $62. If you want Noctuas, this is as good as it gets.

  • +2

Everyone comparing this model with other models which are cheaper, look up A12x25 on youtube or google, it's once of the best performance fan you can buy. Most retailers in AU sell these for over $60-$70 range.
