Pre Employment Medicals? Experiences?

Hi Fellow Oz’s

I have a family member who recently found out today that they were successful to the final recruitment stage.
They have to book in for a medical assessment done, this includes a drug/alcohol testing for urine collection..
We have read the F&Qs on websites in regards to testing and what will happen, but I just want anyone’s personal experience with this? If they physically watch you on the toilet? Are you allowed to close the door?

My relative has extreme anxiety when it comes to anything private in that regards due to previous trauma.
If I was asking how to cheat for drugs, I’d ask that question guys.. I’m only asking if you get watched.

    It’s Australia Post, not Wentworth. They're not going to watch you.

    I have done a test through JobFit before.

    They do not watch you but they put dye in the toilet water so you can’t scoop it to dilute your sample.

    Haven't done jobfit but in my medical they asked me to pee in a cup when I was ready. I was given privacy and I imagine there are all sorts of privacy concerns if they got you to pee in front of someone.

      When I was in the army, we had to bend over, grab our butt cheeks and show the doc our “star”. Everyone had to do it for medicals

        That’s called internal examination and doc will stick a finger around your star to check 😷

    Yeah unless you're in prison or under corrections they won't need to watch you

    Pee in a 1oz eye dropper at home and use that fill the cup when in the toilet.

      Not worried about drugs but great idea. Just worried about getting watched, dropper wouldn’t even work if they watch to, but cheers!

    You can bring a bag in before hand, they don't pat you down, just make sure if your a guy that it's another guys pee.
