Much like our Melbourne born & breed Crumpler, Timbuk2 bags came from San Francisco streets. They’re are highly durable and come with lifetime warranty.
Everything is half price and some items even have bigger discount.
This Curator Laptop Backbag is a good buy, $49 from $149 (black only, other colours are $20 more)

What's the point of the lifetime warranty, seems useless to be lifetime. Like the only thing you can claim under the lifetime warranty is something you check for in the first 5 minutes when you get the bag.

    • They guarantee their products will last a lifetime without breakage. Is that pointless?

      • "Damages not covered are those resulting from abuse, normal wear and tear, cosmetic issues that do not affect the functionality of the bag, and accidental damage. Any damage to or loss of contents of a bag, loss of use, loss of time, or similar expenses are not covered. "

I feel like this is everything. So what's covered besides manufacturing defect?

It is well built so that none of the little breakage can happen such as the stitches, the buckles may become loose traction and won’t hold the straps, the zip, even the fabric itself.
Having used crumpler and some no brand chinese made bags I can see a huge difference in quality. With the half price special it makes the Tumbuk2 not much more expensive than no brand generic ones so its a no brainer to me.
Of course you don’t have to agree and spend your money where it suits.
The only complain I have is they don’t break and I got no excuses to get a new bag.

  • "Much like our Melbourne born & breed Crumpler, Timbuk2 bags came from San Francisco streets." My brain is tied in a knot, thanks.

It did sound great at 2am

      • It was a good effort OP

        • Thanks :)

  • Wait is the stock even in Australia?? how long would shipping be? and is the brand as good as crumpler?

    • Crumpled use thick khaki fabric hence its heavy, Timbuk fabric is thin & lighter. Both provide lifetime warranty on their products.

  • I bought a bag when they had 40pct off. The store rep said they're closing all stores in (cant remember if its AU wide or just Vic). So not sure how they'll honour the lifetime guarantee. Still great price for a great bag though!

    • Though their physical stores may be closed. You can still deal with them online for warranty issue or purchase (like this)

  • I've bought a messenger bag about 12 years ago in the UK. The waterproof inside was gradually failing. I bought a replacement on Catch a couple of years ago but didn't like the style as much so just kept using the original. The original one finally died this year and I swapped back to the newer one. At this point I noticed it was doing the same thing, they honoured the warranty and I got a gift voucher for current retain value of similar bag they now sell without that apparent defect. Not a bad outcome. I still think there new bags may do the same thing though, looks to be exact same material.

    • You can hope the new one also doing the same thing. A new bag every 10 years or so for the rest of your life isn’t such a bad deal.
