  • Sooo, it's gone up?

what's the use case for a low refresh rate curved monitor?

    • +9

People have been using 60hz monitors for decades with no problems, this one is 4K, 32" and curved. Would you like 144hz as well and maybe even for only $199?

Not everyone is a neckbeard gamer.

Well OP clearly said invest in a decent monitor, the Samsung 32 4K non curved are less than $450 many times in the past, what's good about this that makes it 30% more expensive

Yeah I know and if you were to buy a curved monitor for office work, you're making a mistake

        • Link for the Samsung please?

        • +2

I use 2x curved monitors for work and like it. Live and let live

          • @pn09: Yeah but what size, you'll have to have a pretty deep desk to make 2 32 inch curved monitor to work

At 27 then that's more reasonable, it's just very hard to add an extra monitor when you have a 32 curved one, speaking from experience

Maybe it's up to personal preference at 27 inch but 32 inch I can tell you definitively that it's a pain to use for office tasks

@ln28909: They're 32" and for me they work well - I can use spreadsheets, multiple documents etc. as well as having other things visible on the real estate.

Absolutely agree it's personal preference. I had used 2 flat 24" (and 3 flat 24") before, and then worked at a client where I used a 32" curved and I paired it up with a 24" flat (all that was spare) to get 2 screens.

So later when putting together a desktop for myself I went for 2 x 32" curved, and it fills my field of vision well, and I find the combination really easy to use - easy on the eyes and helps with my productivity.

@pn09: How does doubling up work with the curves?

            • @Manny Calavera: It means there is a split directly in front of me, but I don't find it an issue at all. I have the 2 screens in a symmetrical layout so they curve on either side of my field of vision and I really like it.

It means that I turn my head slightly when working on one or the other (as a document will invariably be on one of them, not both) but as the screen real estate is large and near my eyes there is no discomfort at all.

    Hi all,
Just to add to the OP.

I just tried applying the QUT5 code and it looks like it works as well.
    So brought down to $555.13.

  • If this was flat it would be my dream 4k monitor for content viewing :(

    • I'd say 32" is the cusp of where you start to notice that the edges are further away than the middle.

Mine is flat, but I'd be curious to see how a curved one would be.

    • No it wouldn't. I have this monitor it's great apart from the viewing angles. You have to push it quite far back (about 20" on my desk) otherwise the picture at the sides and top are washed out. It would be even worse if it wasn't curved.

For just over $500 is a absolute steal though in my opinion.

      • Ah. My head is 2-3' from the monitor depending on whether I'm leaning back on the chair or not.

  • Where’s the deal on the S3220DGF :(

anyone order? what is the expected delivery date?

    • These apparently have quite a long lead time (for Dell). I spoke to someone at Dell yesterday who said late Oct or early Nov is likely with 2,000+ orders for this item

    • I bought 2 of these last week and the order confirmation said I’d receive them by October 30th, but they actually arrived within 2 business days.
I’m in Sydney metro and they were shipped from a suburb 10kms from me.

I also bought 2 of the 27” 4K the following day, which stated I’d receive them by 20th October. It has now been 1 week and the order hasn’t been shipped as yet.

      • i ordered on sunday and its saying due by 5th of november :/

  • Ordered, thanks.

  • Says "This coupon code has already been redeemed." when I tried QUT5

Was fine this morning when in my cart whilst I was researching before pulling the trigger.

Anybody get this? I cleared cookies and tried private browsing session, same thing.

    • Used EPP2020 instead, worked to get same price. QUT5 was indeed redeemed.. by everyone but me. Interesting wording Dell puts out, should say "expired".
