In partnership with Black Dog Institute, SafeWork NSW is providing free mental health training to all individuals and people leaders across NSW.

Who can apply?
Any NSW private sector individuals or businesses with less than 200 employees.

Free training for individuals

Get free online training to learn how to proactively manage your mental health at work

Stressed with work or dealing with depression? Can you tell the difference? A change in behaviour or performance in yourself or a colleague, could be a sign of mental ill-health.

Understanding and supporting someone who may be struggling with their mental health or reaching out for support yourself can help aid recovery.

Online Interactive Workshop

• Length: 2-hours
• Format: Zoom Meeting

Delivered live by a clinical psychologist and incorporating various interactive tools for engagement including polls, breakout rooms and whiteboard. Participants will be given the opportunity to ask specific questions on any issues they are facing. The training can be organised at a time and date to suit your workplace with up to 25 participants or individuals can attend a public workshop.

Online Module

• Length: 45 minutes
• Format: Three-part online module

The 45-minute online module can be accessed through a unique login portal and can be completed at a time and pace that suits you.

Free training for people managers

Free mental health training to managers and people leaders across NSW

Leading mental health research organisation, Black Dog Institute are providing mental health training for managers and people leaders to develop effective wellbeing leadership practices within teams and manage personal mental health.

Online interactive workshop

• Length: 3 hours
• Format: Zoom meeting

Delivered live by a clinical psychologist and incorporates various interactive tools for engagement including polls, breakout rooms, and a whiteboard. Participants will be given the opportunity to ask specific questions on any issues they are facing. The training can be organised at a time and date to suit your workplace with up to 25 participants, or individuals are able to attend a public workshop.

Online module

• Length: 60 minutes
• Format: Four-part online module

The compacted mental health program can be accessed through a unique login portal any time and can be completed at a time and pace that suits you.

    Black Dog does amazing world class research in mental health.

    R U OK is another charity and personally I think having mental health talked about more is a good thing.

    For those who have reached a point in their treatment where they have stalled and still need help Black Dog have some of the best people in the world. I'd recommend if you are in this situation give them a call, you'll just need a referral.

    While I don't need them, I donate each year as they seriously do state of the art work.

  I run a pawn shop and all my staff are over worked to the brink, some have collapsed on the floor, so while I'm trying to save money I noticed this's free, would my staff benefit from it?

  Yes all my staff use protection due to the pandemic, some forget they can contract diseases if not, we swab them during the evenings and while unethical it's for the safety of the clients who enter to browse the goods, but if clients are infected we must ask them to leave.

  So this training course should help in managing stress.
