Do You Think LG CX 65 Inch Model Will Receive Any Large Discount in The near Future?

Currently, the CX 65 inch model has a 15% off sale on ebay, bringing the price down to around $3700. Do you think it would go down to maybe even ~$3000 during black friday sales? I'm planning on grabbing one for PS5 releasing on nov 12th, not sure if I should wait for sales at the start of nov or go for the purchase now to be safe.

Thanks in advance!

  • Is that the eBay/GoodGuys offer?
Looks good, cheaper than buying from TGG direct. :+)

Give me a second, I'll take a look at my crystal ball!

Just kidding, i'd imagine demand will be pretty strong following the release of the Next-Gen consoles and retailers will know this and potentally demand will be stronger than supply. So apart from the odd Good guys 15/20% off deal and commercial access I couldn't imagine the price dropping too much. In saying that over time of course all tech drops in price. It could be $100 cheaper after xmas however I guess the enjoyment of using this now would be worth it.

My advice, it's a large ticket item, an item you and many others will want. Can't imagine prices being much lower than what you can get today for the next 3 months. Dive in and treat yourself!

No harm in waiting. The PS5 is not out yet and if you don’t have a preorder you might not get it before Christmas. Why not hold out? The price of the CX will only get cheaper with time.

  • WAITING FOR BLACK FRIDAY also waiting for the XBX SX to come down never paid full price

  • No. It won't go down to $3000.

    • Will it go down to $3001?

        yes

Yes. Price will drop. Look at the history of C9 prices, CX will be similar.

November/December are usually the best prices but not necessarily Black Friday or Boxing Day

Except global events, supply chain, distribution logistics and consumer patterns have all changed.

I'm sure it will drop a little in price but I don't think we will see sub $3k.

    • Also there is less competition in the market, with Panasonic pulling out like Jeffrey Epstein on a massage table

      • Oh yes don't want to get any of them girls preg…. Naughty boy

      • Dear Lord, that is an image I won’t get rid of in a hurry.

I bet my left nut that it won't reach $3000. The CX is already 25% more than the C9 at this time last year. The TV business is also doing very well so there is no incentive to discount + higher demand for home entertainment + COVID affecting supply chains.

  • I called up Harvey Norman recently to see if they could price match the Good Guys eBay deal. They told me no. But what I found interesting was that the guy said they didn't have stock at the moment for the TVs. Stock will apparently return in November for whatever reason. I'm not in Victoria either. There are also guys on Whirlpool forums saying the 55-inch LG CX TVs they ordered from Good Guys eBay were due to be delivered at the end of October.

To answer your question OP, I don't think the 65 inch model will reach last year's C9 prices, at least not this year. Maybe in early 2021 when the supply lines have fully recovered. I feel frustrated as do many of you, but that's the sad reality. Maybe I'm wrong and we see better prices in November. Who knows.

    Best of luck.
