    Thanks but no thanks

    • +11

Not sure why is anyone voting your comment negative. This ice cream is really not tasty, maybe not even at 29 cents.

      • +35

It’s because vegans are easily offended

        • +17

Sense every vegan post gets salty comments by non-vegans their not the only ones that are easily offended and the whole comment comment section proves it lol

            This what veganism does?

          • @RandomFox: Salt seems one of the few things on the the menu… But TP shouldn't have been down voted since it's only their personal opinion. Also, he was polite and said thanks

Remember people, there is a reason why super sales like this happen. It's market driven. Hint hint

          • @RandomFox: Think vegan posts generate bad reactions look at Cross fit posts. Can people who do cross fit please just shut up about it and F.O ?

        • +5

So far I have found that non-vegans get a lot more offended by vegans than the other way around.

          • -2

            @Trippelsewe: Please show proof?

          • +2

@Trippelsewe: Percentage or a collective? There are a lot more non-vegans out there than there are vegans. But i'd say about 20% of non-vegans woul voice there distaste compared to 80% of vegans.

            • @Garroshs: Well the total number vegans a non-vegan knows is likely a lot less than the number of vegans a vegan knows. Just like a motorbike rider is more likely to have a higher number of mates who rides motorbikes than someone who doesn't ride bikes. Statistics are fun.

              • @ShipShapeRC: Well offensive in the eyes of the dealer or the receiver?

I bet at the end, you're both right, just from ones own perspective.

                It's all relative.

                • @plague69: There's more vegans getting offended based on the percentage (eg 80%). But there's far fewer vegans in total. Eg: 3,000,000 x 80% = 2,400,000 complainers.

There's less non-vegans getting offended based on the percentage. But as there's far more non-vegans in total. Eg: 22,000,000 x 20% = 4,400,000 complainers.

                  Total population: 25,000,000
                  Total complainers: 6,800,000
                  Split of complainers: 55% vegans, 45% non-vegans

I think it's the Pareto Principal at work again!

      • +6

It's because they probably haven't even tried it.

      • +16

This ice cream is really not tasty, maybe not even at 29 cents.

bonezAU should have said that then. "Thanks but no thanks" can interpreted in so many different ways (e.g. anti-vegan) and that's why it's being downvoted.

        • +3

He's probably never had one (neither have I for that matter) and could have said why he didn't like it.

          • +4

@G-rig: Yup. Hence why I would be inclined to say it's anti-vegan as it often goes with those sort of deals.

            • @Clear: Yeah typical type of remark wouldn't be surprised.
Fair enough if they really are bad but still a great deal.
So good is on special $5/1kg at Woolies, still think that tastes pretty good. Vegan Magnums are great, were on special once.
Depends what you're used to but always going to get yobbo opinions lol

i shit myself if i consume dairy so yes pls

      Two sentences later:

However, other research found conflicting results, suggesting that soy-based foods may not have as much of an impact as these isolated soy components.

In fact, one large review of 15 studies found that soy foods had no effect on testosterone levels in men.

      • Which one to believe?

        • +48

Who knows. I have no skin in the game. However picking and choosing sentences from an article is a pure form of confirmation bias.

          • +13

@ScottEh: personally i just wouldn't worry about it, hardly doubt anyone here would eat enough of these to have an effect on there testosterone production.

            • +14

              @kid-vhee:

doubt anyone here would eat enough of these to have an effect on there testosterone production.

              At 29c each though?

              • @Quantumcat: Still no. It's not too my taste, and I've purchased this at regular price to try.

        • +18

Well the journalist has listed 1 study with a sample size of 35 which shows a link,

          https://academic.oup.com/jn/article/135/3/584/4663709

          vs

15 studies in a review showing no correlation

As far as i know (I'm a PhD Research chemist, biomed undergrad) testoterone hormine production can be affected by many things, particularly exercise which the above study doesn't control for at all.

The link i'd say is non-existent but i'll stick to whey protein because soy tastes like foot.

          • +1

@choumada: Ah you’re a PhD research candidate - are you sure you can still afford these? :P #stemlyf

    • +7

that's a myth, most studies so far found it has no impact on an individual testosterone level.

      • -4

So either they are right or they got big money to fund studies that push their findings?

        • +3

Biological sciences are all over the place. Something like 40% of studies cannot be repeated and show the same results while studies show contradictory findings on many things.

    • @vikvance - Nice selective reading lmao,

    Soylent Green Cornetto? 100% Vegan?

  • Which Spudshed OP?

    • Should be store-wide.
      Photo taken at Innaloo.

      • Thanks yeah different spud sheds have different stock so not always.

        • Anyone confirmed any at other WA stores?

          • +2

@granthamana: Had these at the Morley store yesterday. Tried it and wouldn't buy again!

      It's milk and eggs, bitch!

      • +1

Don't downvote this dude, he got it.

        • I don't think they've seen the movie, but that is by far my favorite line from it hahaha

      • Cornetto corporation means that the cows and chickens used to produce it were themselves vegan.

    • +5

      Chicken isn't vegan?

    • +1

      de-veganize ray. HIT HIM

  • -5

I don't fancy Vegan food but this actually taste good.

    • +12

      You don't fancy fruit? Weird.

      • +5

Most people just call it food…

'Vegan Food' is just alternatives for some types of food that some people refuse to eat.

      • -1

I'm not into alternative food, if I want meat I have meat, not tofu that look like meat.

        • +1

          Agreed

  • +20

Vegan is such a trigger word for people it seems. The stress isn't good for your heart in these troublesome times.

    • So is meat ;-)

      • Well said

      • Meat is actually mostly a trigger word for stuffy nonvegans when it is used to describe anything that isn't animal flesh.

        • non vegans LOVE meat lol….what the heck are you on about! Non vegans. I think they call those sorts of people normal. There is nothing wrong with meat. Bad produce is bad produce though be it animal veg or fruit. Pesticides, hormones, contaminated soil or meat. Quality is far more important than what specific entire food groups you restrict! Honey vs refined sugar for example. Sugars…but the quality of them is entirely different. Grass fed beef or home grown eggs. Monsanto sprayed crops aren't doing anything good for your system when you ingest that shit.

  • +1

    Are they short dated?

  • +2

At that price, I’d expect a 3 hour expiry 😆

  • +1

For such a cheap price, I can grab extras for my wife's son and my wife's boyfriend too!
    EPIC!!!

    • +7

      I’m surprised a 12 year old has a wife.

  • +2

so cheap because there is no demand for it

  • -8

Masculine become feminine easy. This is cheapest.

  • There is/are reason(s) why these are in clearance for so cheap. Don't expect these to be on the market for long.

  • -6

    this is not ice cream!!

    • +12

      triggered

    • Does it even say ice-cream on the box?

      • On that topic, do regular Cornetto's say "ice cream" on the box?

        https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/434092/cor…

This one seems to only say "Ice Confection", possibly because it doesn't have enough cream in it?

        • That would be correct. This article sums it up well and it would seem Cornetto does not follow the Food Standards for what is defined as ice cream.

  • +3

Thanks, my kid is allergic to milk and smashes these things.

    • +1

My kid is allergic to milk and had a slight reaction to these for some reason.

      • did you question them

      • bugger. feeding kids' with allergies is like walking through a minefield.

  • +1

Another polarizing (amygdala hijack) post when we see Vegan , Cage Eggs, RRP "deals", what else?

  • I love these!

  • -1

    🤮

  • +11

Here come all the lard asses getting triggered by the word vegan with their witty comments lol. These taste great and most wouldn't know the difference between the dairy version.

    • My wife doesn’t like them and goes for the dairy free Magnum.

  • +1

Innaloo - probably where they should go ;-)

    • They'll def end up Innaloo at the end of the day

  • +2

Vegan / Non-vegan debate aside, this is a real product at a real heavily discount rate. So for OzB it's a deal if you want it. All else is confirmation bias to your pre-existing paradigm.

  • -1

    " tastes good "

    its just sugar breh

    of course it tastes good

  • Looks like a much better deal than wagu beef lol
