In their newsletter it's says "3D glasses not included". http://a1g4g.s13.it/f/rnl.aspx/?fdi=q/uo1s2:9jh=ux-j0=wtx&a7…

Delivery varies. It's $62.15 to QLD.

    • Ouch :/

      No worries.
We will give away ONE FREE pair of 3D glasses for this model.
      Hurry up guys! Limited stocks.

      • +2

Yeah very strange considering 1 pair of glasses are included in the box. From the newsletter it sounds like you are removing the pair from the box!

        • It was an error from our graphic designer. There IS 1 PAIR of 3D glasses included from Samsung.

      • +2

It's supposed to be included and NOT you giving away.

        • Yes ktks, you are correct! 1x pair 3D is supplied

Also FREE pickup in our Sydney warehouse is available !!

    • Wheres pickup from?
Also i have placed my order last week no delivery yet… can i still pickup from sydney and get the refunded difference?

      • Hi, Pick up from St Peters 2044, pls contact our customer service to arrange pick up.
We will give you the pick up information, and refund you after you have picked up the TV.
(this is based on if we haven't already shipped it out yet)

        • Is there a retail store at the St Peters warehouse? Wondering if I can get my local DSE to price match.

        • No it's just their warehouse. Unfortunately DSE will not pricematch on that basis :( I was thinking the same thing - getting DSE mate's employee card or using my 5% off gift cards

Why would anyone charge customers to pick up an item?

This fantastic deal is back! I ordered one last week (progress of order is still stuck at "preparing shipping docs") so hopefully I don't have to wait until 30th Nov also.

  • Awesome good to see this deal back and with free pickup it's even more brilliant!

Can anyone with this TV please comment on image quality with SD content?

EDIT: nvm, seems SD content is acceptable though not that great from this thorough review which otherwise highly recommends the unit: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung-ps51d550-201109221412…

  • If you are not in Sydney and wanted to save on shipping (was $100 to WA), you might be able to get one from David Jones at the same price (if it's in stock) as they recently changed there price match policy to include online stores if they also have a physical presence.

    • If you are in WA, will they not include delivery cost from Syd when price matching?

      • Don't know, tried to call at 8:30am and found out they don't open till 9:30am. Bit surprised at that.

  • Melbourne DJs told me they only price match stores with storefronts in Vic.

    • That is not stated in their new policy document.

      http://www.davidjones.com.au/images/PDFs/PricePolicyDocument…

Perhaps they are not aware of the changes?

      • Not applicable if item is from warehouse.

      • Possibly, but it still states that retailers must have a store-front ie not be online only. I think you'd struggle to fit topbuy into that definition. They may offer pick up on this particular product, but their website states fairly clearly that they are online only.

  • JB matched this but added the delivery fee $741

    • Which store is that?

  • Belconnen ACT

  • +1

Bought with $10 discount for signing up to topbuy's newsletter & (hopefully) $35 cashback from moneybackco. So net cost will be about $715 including delivery to Melbourne. Doubt a B&M store would be able to match that.

    • Good thinking. That means sydney folks could pick up for $655 after $35 mbc and $10 off. If only officeworks sold plasmas lol

  • Purchased from JB belconnen for $800 with 3yrs warranty total.

  • -1

If i use the direct deposit payment method it states you save an additional 1%. If i use this method going through the mbc site could i still get cash back from mbc?

  • Awesome. At this price you could buy 4 and make a 102" 2x2 matrix…..

  • Managed to get JB Hifi to match the price with delivery although I had to pick it up. Did this on Wednesday and took it home and set it up that night. Total cost $755. Got the full experience last night watching the cricket with South Africa. Awesome picture and size for the money. Very Happy with this purchase!!

I ended up not buying through topbuy as their voucher system did not work and when I called them I was on hold for 30 minutes before giving up. That night I tried the click to talk and was less than impressed with the service provided so I was not that keen to go through them and luckily JB matched the price.

    • You can also pick up from Topbuy warehouse, will save you $43 even without the voucher.

  • Topbuy uses Australian Air Express, came this morning but I wasn't home. Pick up available at their Greenacre depot. Silly thing about their delivery is that they can't provide ETA window other than to say 9-5. Makes it hard for me to juggle work hours.

    • Yeah AAE is pretty sucky with ETA windows. If you're gonna have to pick up from greenacre you could have saved your postage dollars and just picked up from their warehouse in st peters which isnt that far from there.

  • Or get Air Express to re-deliver to your work address for free. They did it for me on the Sunshine Coast.

    • A 51 inch Plasma TV?

  • Does anyone receive it?

    • +2

      Item will be dispatched 30.11.11

      • thanks

  • I'm going from a 2 year old Samsung 32" Series 5 LCD to this. First thing I noticed is that the volume is not as strong and crisp. I haven't yet figured out how to adjust but it's a like for like comparison on Movie setting. Also I often play video files off my external USB HDD and the player software on the plasma appears to be an older version than the one used in my LCD TV. When watching multi-episode dramas, the LCD will show thumbnails for files that I have watched so I know which was the last episode I've watched. Also on the LCD I can pause the movie and I can resume to exactly where I last stopped watching within the episode file itself by pressing the blue button, even after switching the TV off and on. These features are not in the plasma. Fast forwarding is also much slower, although on the plasma I can specify the precise minute/second to fast forward to. I can't do this on the LCD.

    • Have you checked for a firmware update?, that may help

  • I got pickup notification email today———11 Nov 2011

    • Picked it up on 1 DEC, Topbuy made it well.

      • Installed on 3 Dec, NP.

  • They have them back in stock. http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/product/SAMSUNG-3D-Series-5-…
