I thought I do some contribution as well. Found this one:

Lego Ideas 21301 Birds Model Kit

I thought this is a pretty good price for a product which is already retired.

Cheapest so far is around $180.

Hope someone will find this useful.

wow .. this $69.99 when i first bought it in 2015

    • I know, but its a very unusual set. I think its going to look nice once all assmebled

  • Covid inflated Lego prices 4 fold!

More along the line of a 5 year old retired LEGO Ideas set than being covid inflated.

      • I agree, I had a lego called the Ghost 75053 , got it on sale at Target for $49 as it has a shockingly crashed box, sold for $200 recently (No missing parts but the box the buyer didnt want as its so bad). On eBay its around $500 now

  • The description at the top is a bit messed up!?

"Build and play out LEGO Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Triwizard Tournament scenes, taking on other competitors… and a Hungarian Horntail dragon
This Hungarian Horntail Triwizard Challenge playset includes 4 minifigures, all with wands: Harry Potter, Fleur Delacour, Cedric Diggory and Viktor Krum and inside the buildable champions tent is a bed, 2 cups, small shelf and a magic potion bottle
Hungarian Horntail with wings open measures over 2” (7cm) high, 10” (27cm) long and 13” (34cm) wide; the tent (closed) measures over 2” (7cm) high, 8” (10cm) wide and 2” (7cm) deep; the tent (opened) measures over 2” (7cm) high, 5” (14cm) wide and 1” (5cm) deep
The LEGO Hungarian Horntail Triwizard Challenge 75946 set can be built together with all other original LEGO sets and LEGO bricks for creative building
265 pieces Harry Potter LEGO set for boys and girls aged 8+ and for fans and big kids of all ages"

Hopefully you get the right set!!

  • Surely it must be cheaper to Bricklink the parts.

    • You’ll be surprised, postage costs add up very quickly.
You’ll also be putting an hr or two (guestimates) to compile part lists and orders, wait a month or two for them to arrive, and assuming you manage to get all parts from only a few sellers, you still won’t have physical instruction or box (for the collector) unless you want to pay decent dough for them.

      • Youre probably right normally. Altho I wonder it might be fine here. Going by the pic the colours and pieces are so standard in this one.

        Edit: comment below solves that.

Bricklink compiles the parts list for you, just add the set to your wishlist and then part it out. I just did real quick and the parts came to $114 plus postage so this price for a boxed set technically isn't that bad. The bird name tiles are nearly $9 each alone. Ditch those and this set could be replicated more cheaply.

I thought this was ozbargain not ozrippoff

  • Been this price for a few weeks. Issue is you never know which condition the box will arrive. Damaged, creased…
