Alcohol is a funny drug. The people who buy it usually say they buy it for the taste of the additives.
A rational consumer of alcohol would buy the most alcohol for the least amount of money, which in Australia's strange and very non-volumetric tax regime, means buying cask wine every time.
It's true. I have a few bottles of spirits I bought duty free and I've never even opened them. I drink wine for the taste. With wine, much of the taste comes with fermentation. No alchohol = just sweet grape juice.
Have you ever tried dealcoholised wine? Dan Murphy's sells it. Less than 0.5% content. It tastes very average. Slightly modified grape juice. I ended up adding vodka to it to get it to taste normal :-)
The comment about cask wine is very true. You can buy around 40 standard drinks for $9 in that form. The cheapest bottle of vodka I've ever seen in Australia is $22 for 21 drinks. Alcohol is of course an extremely cheap liquid without punitive taxation. CSR makes 100% ethanol for under $1 per litre for adding to E10 and E85 fuel.
I brew my own beer/cider and just buy a bottle of bourbon occasionally. Much cheaper. cant stand paying aussie prices for alcohol, not worth it.

How long does it take to deliver? So if i order today will it get here tomorrow? Also is the a minimum spend?
I ordered on Friday the 18th and got a email saying it has been despatched on Tuesday the 22nd and will receive approx 25th-28th (I am in Tassie) so thats not a bad turn around time. I just want it for xmas so i dont really mind anyway
