  • Wow, that's pretty low. Then again, heard people complaining about the battery life for this model, I as targeting this initially

  • Is this a good watch? wife is looking to buy a decent smart watch.

    • I would say this is a fitness watch with smart watch features. If you are looking for a smart watch with fitness elements, if she has an iPhone the apple watch would probably be better

      • Hi my dad has an Iphone, what happens if I purchase an Apple watch and he switches his phone to a different brand will the watch still work, say with a Samsung phone? Sorry might be a silly question but very new to this and am looking to buy one for Christmas

The apple watch will not work on any other platform other than IOS (Iphones)

          • @niknaks: Oh ok thank you, don't know which smart watch to get its so confusing there's too many :(

            • @Boxcuttahz: look into the Fitbit line of watches. they recently released one called the sense $499 and the versa 3 $399 that both work on android and IOS (not all functionality available on IOS due to how iPhones work but the basics are there). Also these are both more fitness trackers but they most smartwatch features one would want are there. Caveat 1 being the watches were released with a bunch of advertised features not enabled at launch but Fitbit has advised that most will be progressively enabled by way of updates due to be deployed by end of the year (take with a grain of salt but given these are core features I trust it will be updated). However features like ECG sensor are subject to Australian regulatory approval and it is unclear when this will be granted. Caveat 2 there is some concern as to what degree some health metrics the Fitbits can track will be looked behind their subscriptions service (ie detailed sleep data etc). If you search YouTube i am sure you will find reviews covering all ends of spectrum (bad and good) that will help make decision. goodluck

              • @niknaks: Hi niknaks, thank you so much for this information. I'm very grateful for the time you've taken in writing this. I'll definitely look into one for my dad, take care and have a great day :)

                • @Boxcuttahz: no worries…all that being said would just stick with the apple watch…..you may be limited to ios but nothing beats it from a typical consumer perspective.

This is a great price. Warranty though may be an issue with international product.
I have been trying to find information about international warranty for Garmin products
"Devices purchased in the United States or Canada must be returned to the Garmin service center in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, or Taiwan for service."

I've bought from a Garmin watch from an overseas retailer about 5 year ago (not Amazon).

All you need to do is register it on their website (with the serial #), and all should be good - I had some issues with it about 2 months, and the Australia support team helped out no issues

  • Does this support Garmin Pay?

  • -1

Garmin support is better than their products. They had to replace me 2 vivosmart and 1 vivosport due to issues with the band. Luckily the vivoactive has replaceable band

  • Nothing good on the Venu? :'(

Great price for a great fitness watch. Bought mine a while ago with that Garmin pricing bungle earlier this year/late last year. The music really swung it for me, and it's just all round a great smart watch

  • Hope you guys received yours. An empty vivoactive box was shipped to me! Amazon gave me a refund but would not reship the item, making my prime membership a big waste of money which I promptly cancelled.

    • Was the vivoactive box sealed? I wonder how that happened?

      • +1

Nah the watch box was not sealed. The package didnt look tampered with in any way, so I assume someone at an Amazon warehouse somewhere swiped it (and the charger) and sent out an empty box.

  • Received LED strip lights instead of a watch. Amazon will apparently refund my money, but refused to reship the item as well as it was sold by Amazon US. Will never buy from Amazon again

    • Sorry to hear about your experience, must have been a shock!

      • Took me a while to work out what had gone on! Mostly disappointing.
Glad to hear that some have been getting the watches

  • Received mine today, all as normal and working well. Sorry to hear about the above 😔

  • Mine was refunded by amazon. Apparently package was damaged between 3rd party shipper on way to amazon and then returned.
I'm calling bs on the legitimacy of the price/stock availability especially in light of other comments above in this deal.
