Best star wars ever made. Finally something a bit daring for a change.

    Change my mind.

      Casino scene pointless.

      Phasma is a wasted character.

      So too was Snoke.

Bombs don’t fall in space as there’s no gravity.

Luke mourning Han left on cutting room floor.

Lightsaber duel with royal guards laughable.

      Snoke’s death predictable.

Rey predictably wins all challenges she faces whilst Luke fails miserably.

Luke’s duel with Kylo is wimpish.

      That’ll do.

I agree with about half of your points, but I still think it was a great movie.

Like, all of those are actually ok by me.. but the entire plot hinging on a "low fuel" chase, where the hero characters get to lightspeed around without worrying about fuel, and then the villains, who should be the only ones that can lightspeed around to jump ahead, don't. It's second only in absurdity and poorly thought out than "this dagger aligns with this geography that we have a bajillionty to one chance to be in the right spot without any sort of tectonic or erosive events happening"

        • Don't even get me started on that dagger. If you're going to make the entire film a mcguffin hunt, at least have them make sense, you know?
When that scene happened in the movie I looked around at the absurdity of the situation but nobody seemed phased by it at all.
At least there was an audible groan over the very end.

I think this is the third best Star Wars film after Empire and a New Hope. I agree with you though; it's an excellent film because it's not afraid to take risks, ask questions about the fundamentals of Star Wars, and deal with bigger/new themes that Star Wars previously hasn't approached.

It's a real shame that JJ retconned a lot of it in TRoS due to the negative reaction of a small number of vocal fans. Hopefully those who disliked it will reassess it in the future!
