One of the best Zelda games ever made !

    • I would say
      1. A link to the past
      2. Wind Waker
      3. Breath of the Wild
      4. Ocarina of Time

      • everybody agree on the list? im want to play just one, the best one

        • +1

There is no best one. Pretty much all are good just pick the style and console you want and grab any

        • +2

Play breath of the wild ! Everyone dies in that game. Also great story

        • +1

Personally, Majora's Mask is my favourite one (which isn't on that list), followed by Twilight Princess (also not there).

Zelda games are fairly subjective, everyone prefers a different one :)

          • +1

@mangobango: Exactly, i found myself liking Skyward Sword and Majoras mask more than Wind Waker.

I also found Link between worlds and Minish cap to be great too.

        • +1

Some of my favourite Zelda games are Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. The games are actually different and had the ability to interact with each other which I thought was such an awesome idea as opposed to Pokemon when it’s largely the same between versions.

Really hope they decide to remake these one day.

        • They’re all great games and best is entirely subjective. They all follow the same formula (except BOTW) which boils make your way to the dungeon, complete it and unlock new items.
Having said that, I find it difficult to compare the games and rank them from best to worse. Especially the 2D vs 3D games.

I’d recommend either Wind Walker or Ocarina of Time for a 3D Zelda game for a beginner. Twilight Princess has a very slow start which might be off putting. I’m not a fan of Skyward Sword. Haven’t played Majoras Mask.

If you want a 2D game, A link to the past is probably a good start. A Link between worlds is the sequel which is pretty good too but really easy.

Breath of the Wild might be the easiest to get into but don’t expect the other ones to be similar to this one.

        Missed Majora’s Mask… man it’s all so nostalgic 😍

      • Maybe a little bit like Mario Kart - almost everyone loves the first one they played the most.

        • +1

Funny that you say that, I prefer Mario kart 7 over Mario Kart 8.

Have both but play 7 more.

          • @SpeedRunnerLink: It's really weird but I feel the same way. I love Mario Kart 7, especially on 3ds. Mario Kart 8 didn't feel special to me.

  • Ugh, picked up Paper Mario from them a few weeks ago when it was $20 ):

  • +4

I refuse to believe that there are unhacked 3DS units out there.

    • +4

i bought brand new from amazon, arrived, opened the box, and hacked it in 30mins haha

    • +1

Me too! I picked up my NN3DSXL for $54 like new and hacked it immediately! SO much easier than swapping carts, although I still own everything I've put on there, it's just more convenient to not have to take the games out with me!

Started the same with the Wii U now too!

    • Is it legal to download pirated games on a 3DS console if I already have the game cartridges? You know so I don’t need to carry too many cartridges. Or my purchases are for physical cartridges and I still need to buy digital versions?

      • +1

It's a grey area but normally seen as acceptable if you have the physical.

      • No it’s not. I recently discovered even backing up your own copies is illegal in Australia

        • +2

Who cares, no ones going to get prosecuted.

      • +2

Use GodMode9 to dump your 3DS cartridges to a .cia file and then install them directly onto your 3DS: https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage

    • i've got an old 3DS XL still in it box unopened from the last deal kmart had for $99.

    • +1

      my limited editions are unhacked.

      • +1

Same, got a boxed Link Between Worlds 3DS XL which will likely be worth more unmodded

    • I have an unused, unhacked Majora's Mask console in its box in my drawer (shrug)

      • happy to take it off your hands if you dont want it lol

        • Lol yeah I'm sure I'll sell it at some point at a price ozbargain would not approve of!

    • I have softmodded each one of mine but having a hard-copy of a Nintendo game is always a nice thing to buff up the value of the device.

      • i only have one hard copy - my fav. game. street fighter IV

    • Can you play online on hacked 3DS units? So would I be able to jump on Pokemon battles online on my physical UltraSun cartridge after hacking my 3DS?

  • +1

I hate how Nintendo has to ruin the game art with their "Nintendo selects" branding.

    • +1

This, this and this. I bought a 3DS a few months ago. Never been big on Nintendo handhelds. But nice for collecting. I can't stand the Nintendo selects box art.

  • +1

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is now out of stock. Disappeared from the cart

    • +1

      As is Kirby

      • well crap. saw this post way too late, only just picked up a new 3ds a few weeks ago and these would have set me up nicely :(

  • Amazon price match?

    • Amazon doesn't have any of them listed anymore.

  • +1

3D Land and Mario Maker are on their eBay Store with free delivery with eBay Plus

    • Mario maker is good but I don’t know when they turn off the online levels

Guys, honest question (but feel free to neg me anyway), what makes you really love zelda game?

I tried this one…somehow I just didn't get the charm of it. It's too….how should I put it, childish? Like, this is a game for a kid in terms of story wise, gameplay etc.

But please tell me why makes you guys really love and adore zelda games? is other version of zelda game (in other console) better maybe compare to this?

    • i really lost my interest in zelda after the snes era. I really didn't find it interesting in either the gamecube or wii.

    • You clearly haven't played twilight princess if you think it's childish. Everyone has a different opinion about what is the 'best' zelda game, try a few and see what you like!

      • I've got 3 different versions (GC/Wii and WiiU) of it, and i think after an hour of gameplay I lost interest in it's fetch quest mechanics and ended up playing resident evil remake and metal gear solid remake.

      • just googled that one, looks good to be honest.

Would love to try that one, shame it's only in wii/gamecube

        • Maybe getting into it during childhood years is a bit part of the appeal. A bit like any other fantasy world in that sense. The puzzles are super fun and sometimes very challenging, especially in ocarina of time. Breath of the wild lacks difficult puzzles in the main story but the combat is excellent.

    • +2

Zelda is definitely something that appeals to kids as well as adults, like the best classic Disney, Pixar, or Miyazaki animated films.

A lot of gamers do prefer darker and grittier stuff, especially during their teens and young adulthood.

Try Breath of the Wild. Nostalgia aside, it's the best Zelda game (I've played them all).

    • +1

If you haven't tried Zelda BOTW on the switch, i recommend you try that!
It's a bit…darker in terms of story? And gameplay wise its much more open world than other Zeldas, and not as linear.

  • Bought a copy of Zelda, for C&C in Vic… just waiting on that call/text to pick up, but not holding my breath.

    • your breath or Breath of the Wild ?

    • Worst case scenario you can get the original version with the gold metallic cover used for around $20.

I prefer that than the cheaper looking Nintendo Selects cover.

  • Don’t trust the online stock level. There is none Zelda stated online but Riverton WA has one on shelf

  • My local also had Kirby's extra epic yarn for $20, which is a decent price

    • +1

It is, they are still going for $30-40 used on eBay.

      • Essentially the last ever release on the console and games in that position usually remain quite desirable. Granted a quick google suggests it's an obscene $4.95 if you can somehow find it at EB games

        • -2

I actually grabbed 5 copies from EB when they were at $4.95

  • Anyone able to get me a copy of Detective Pikachu $10 at Big W and I’ll pay you back with postage costs

Really wanna get this game for my Daughteds Bday soon as she is a massive Pokémon fan

Just private msg me if you can’t help

    Thanks!
