4gb of Vram is really on the low side these days

Yeah, I'm not sure why you'd buy this over an 8GB RX 580.

      • use less power??

    • Surely sufficient for 1080p

honestly makes no sense, might as well wait the 1-2 months itll take to get it, waiting instead for a better deal.

    • Yeah that's a long ass wait. I'd just get the 1650 Super commented above, or you can get a 1660 Super for around $320 that will last a bit longer.

      • Where can you get a 1660 super for $320?

        • It's been under $300 before on multiple occasions: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1660…

          • @jp1011: I know, but I want to order today haha! All my other parts have arrived or en route.
I saw you can get the ASUS single fan for $330, but not great reviews.

            • @glub: Fair enough! The wait is always so much longer when you have all the other parts already lol.
Agreed that you shouldn't pull the trigger on any single fan ones, noise is always gonna be so much worse. Best of luck with the wait!

              • @jp1011: I just pulled the trigger, went with Gigabyte GTX1660 SUPER 6GB Mini, although still, a single fan has much better reviews than the ASUS. I also have an ITX build with limited space so it's probably not a bad idea.

I paid $327 with express shipping, I could have maybe saved $30 but not worth the wait.

More of a temporary option until the other cards drop in price anyway.

                • @glub: Sounds good. By bad single fan models I was referring to any "blower style" cards, which the Gigabyte is not, so it should be alright!
From my own experience with a 1660 these cards are very efficient and don't take much to cool anyway.

    • yeah wait another year for RTX 3050 Ti or RX 6500 xt

      • Wait for rtx 4050 super
