LEGO Mindstorms 51515 $439.99 Delivered @ Shopforme

110

The long awaited successor to Lego mindstorms EV3
it introduces a rechargeable battery, scratch-like programming language, 4x motors with absolute positioning (no more steering calibration for racers!) a light emitter/sensor, bluetooh game controller support.

Buying from shopforme is also supporting an indie lego store during a tough year. Plus they are awesome folks!
GET ON IT!
Also, I still blame wade for my poor impulse control over this set.

  • sratch-like programming language

    what does that mean?

  • Ooh really keen on this, might wait for black friday though

  • Was ever so briefly $84.43 at Amazon.com.au this morning… But this is a good price if Amazon's temporary price is ignored.

    • what? did you buy any? if that was true that would be amazing

      • yeah it was. i didn't see the email alert quick enough and missed out. it's not a theme i've ever considered getting into, but for 85% off I would have grabbed 2.

        • most likely price error?

          • +1

@qzcbmo: yeah. but when the seller is Amazon AU, they always honour it (in my experience)

            • @fortyfour: There was a price on a Vinyl Album a few months ago that was way below what everyone else was charging. Amazon cancelled the orders as being a price error.

              Found the email from them:

We're contacting you about order [snip]. We recently discovered an error that caused the following item(s) to be displayed at an incorrect price:

Notes On A Conditional Form (2Lp/Clear Vinyl) (X)

In this case, we're unable to offer this item for the incorrectly posted price. Therefore, we've cancelled your order for this item, and you haven't been charged.

At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced. We're very sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

This is not to say your Lego won't turn up, but there's precedent for them cancelling price errors. I guess it's possible that would honour it if it was in stock. I can't remember whether this item was in-stock, backorder, or pre-order though. I am sure someone will have a link to the deal.

edit: Just realized that you did not, in fact, order one. So if one shows up for that will be extremely lucky.

              • @khadro: I've had this before for a 3rd party seller selling through amazon. will be interesting to see if @brannor gets the lego or not. $2199.96 RRP value for $337.72 is a steal.

      • Yes… I confess I bought 4.

        Christmas presents for kids sorted.

  • 51515 vs 31313…I've heard good and bad reviews. Any thoughts?
