HP Envy X360 13.3-Inch R5-4500U/8GB/512GB SSD 2 in 1 Device - $1591 @ Harvey Norman

90

Was looking for an affordable 2 in 1 device and came across this really cheap deal for the R5-4500u model and 512GB SSD. Laptop has great reviews an absolutely destroys the Intel model in performance. Possibly this price as the 5000 series are looming? Seems odd that it's not discounted elsewhere.

Same laptop with 256GB SSD is ~$100 more at JB

With this kind of specs, it needs to be at $1000 to $1200 to call it a deal.

While it's not an insane deal - a 2 in 1 with these specs (especially with the R5-4500u) at this price is a really good deal if someone's budget is <$2000

      • +3

The Lenovo Flex with the exact same spec is always for sale at around $1000.

      • If budget of <2000, I will be looking for at least 16GB ram imo.

I think this price is fair for a nicer quality 2 in 1.

16gb of ram would have been nice though.

@littlelooloo Why? equivalent machine and price? I think this is a great machine for the price only lacking in ram if you are really concerned.

Remember this is a while ago and AMD Ryzen 5000 CPUs are around the corner.

If you say the HP model is more premium then

There will always be better deals from time to time in terms of what's available now this is compelling. And AMD Ryzen 5000 mobile hasn't been announced I'm sure there will be better devices for the money in the future but if you need a laptop now… you need a laptop now. If the 11th gen was available I'd say maybe go for that.

BUT SPECS ON PAPER ≠ better integration by the manufacturer and for this model only I'm saying HP has made a compelling product.

    • Agree - a real deal is 16gb and 4K for $1200-$1300 like we were able to get a few months back. This is standard pricing.

LTT comparison to equivalent 10th gen intel.

  • I'd wait, JB Hi-FI had the R7 version for about that and I used the 5% off at JB to get it for around $1450.

Fair deal. Seeing lots of ryzen Renoir sleep issues lately, seems like it's a Microsoft issue with 2004 of windows 10
