Can't comment on the price, but Sharp make thier stuff to last.

agree. We have a Sharp microwave since 2001, it's working perfectly. impressive.

      • Ditto, ours still going strong since 1998 - used at least 5 times everyday and still looks great too! I wanted to get a pana inverter conv one but this one just refuses to die :)

        • The ones manufactured before 2000 did not have this display issue. Later one started to have this fault. Well, what do you expect for a $199 box.

      • I have a Sharp microwave. The display carked itself after the warranty period. Did a google search and found that everyone had the same problem. I now have to guess how many minutes I have put my food in.

        • oh man thats a downer.. but why do you guess? don't you just add up the number of +1 minute and +10 second button presses in your head to get the total time you want? or did the timer die completely and it just keeps on going each time you press start?

        • I have to add up the time. Press the start button for 1 minute, press again for 2 minutes. Or press 1, 3, 0 for 1 minute 30 seconds. Have to make sure I press clear first before starting otherwise the time will add to the previous time if cooking was stopped before it finishes.

This is an awesome price. Just doing a quick search shows that other places are selling this model at more than $300.

Just a heads up it's not a Convection oven, just a 'conventional' oven

But yes, inc. shipping, it's cheap. Most microwave ovens after haggling are about $260-270 excluding shipping

Was confused bout that - so it is a standard microwave

      • +2

Hi Wally, yes it's a standard microwave.

Why did you feel the need to advertise it as a 'conventional' microwave oven, instead of just plain microwave oven? I also took it to be a convection/ microwave oven at first glance. Do you also advertise conventional fridges, conventional washine machines etc.. Nope, thought not.
