[NSW] IKEA Gorlig Oven $50 in-Store @ IKEA, Marsden Park

350

By the registers at the end of the warehouse section. No idea if any good but the original price seemed to have been $500+ as per a previous deal. Discontinued item so might be available on clearance elsewhere too?

Could be a great find. Depends who manufactured it for Ilea. I know Bosch, Electrolux, Smeg and few other brands OEM for IKea. Landlords dream! 😊

    • I cannot precisely parse the code on the photo but from the Ikea's chart, Gorlig 804.132.33 == Electrolux Appliances AB Sweden.
And my Kulinarisk is marked the same (Electrolux/Sweden) but in fact made in Italy.

    • made by whirlpool

Pretty sad life if that's what landlords dream about

A very basic oven - no convection fan. But $50? Time to upgrade that rental flat.

    • No fan? I didn't even know such a thing existed

    • -2

All these built in oven have a fan. Both for heating as well as for cooling. What this if truly an oven basic will not have the fan forced heater at the back of the oven (top and bottom element only). But definetly a fan at the back that will spread the heat and run when the elements are off to cool down.

      • Both for heating as well as for cooling

Eh? This is a "conventional" oven, no convection.
The only fan is to cool the exterior of the oven, not for circulating air inside. Your language may be misleading.

        • So really, this is not an "oven" its a toaster oven in my opinion.

          • @samfisher5986: Have you not noticed how cooking instructions give different temps for conventional and fan-forced ovens?

  • Holy shit that's crazy

Ikea have a 5 years warranty on appliances

      • Even on clearance items?!

        • +2

yeah they will give your $50 back lol

i wouldnt put this in a rental as i'm not happy about forcing my guy to install something no one backs

if it was a standalone device you could just plug into the wall then… fire away

@tonyjzx: I see what you did there! 👍

          • @tonyjzx: But then it would suck because it would be limited to 10A and have only a single element

      • Only on their premium models. The basic models only get 2 years. I speak from experience.

        • All kitchen mixer taps from IKEA have a 10-year guarantee, while all IKEA appliances have a 5-year guarantee. The exceptions are LAGAN and TILLREDA, which have a 2-year guarantee.

This unit has a 5 year warranty

        • I just bought one the other day for 134 and it's 5 years I am pretty sure

Does anyone know if IKEA has a price guarantee for family members?

          • @Jackson: They do, just got a refund for the difference over the phone, was relatively painless process. And confirming that it's 5 years warranty

    • It's very expensive to get replacement parts for any oven. Well the replacement part isn't expensive if you know how to install it yourself. Once you have to pay for labour, you might as well replace the oven as soon as the oven conks out after warranty.

a hard-wired device that costs more money to install unless you are licensed to do so…

    • +1

I installed mine. As long as you have a 10/15 amp power installed its easy as ABC

      • In Victoria you need a certificate now…

      • Rental property is required for the certificate. Interest to know if convert the hardwired to a power plug and plug into 10A socket, is it ok?

        • Rental property is required for the certificate

          No certificates for owner-occupiers?

          • @tenpercent: Subject to your home insurance policy and your level of risk intaking.

would not recommend this model, some issues with the seals they go saggy during cooking and heat goes out

    • If it doesn't seal, the element will burn out in no time.

      • Sika appliance sealant is 20 bucks, glue that seal up yourself, cures fully in 24 hrs

    wife needs one

  • No fan = uneven heating

  • $50, not bad. Even if it's very basic, you would be lucky to find a 2nd hand decent oven.

Are there any Ozbargain favorites that's a next step up?

    • I checked choice the other day, and while this one wasn't reviewed they had tested 3 of their ovens and said all were good

  • Got one, about 3 left in stock

    • thanks, it's 50km drive for me, :( by the time I get there it might be gone.
