1280ts are active speakers so you won't need an amp.

    • yea.. was looking at 1280ts or 1700BT.. but is really hard without actually listen to one of this units..

    Tell us the price son

    • $500 or less…

  • Audioengine A2+ for good sound quality. $350-450 though

There are other brands for slightly less, someone else can pop in, I don't know em.

Key is 'powered with a DAC'.

    • wow.. it's in bright red…..

The edifier 350DB are a nice set of 2.1 speakers. I've had mine for 3 years and they have been excellent.

There is also the newer 360DB which is pretty much the same but with a couple upgrades.

    • that's the one with the massive sub? rather than just 2 bookshelves..

      • I wouldn't call the sub massive at all. Its a 35 cm2 cube.

  • Razer Nommo speakers are very good for PC if you don't want heavy bass unit.

Edifier S1000MKII seems to be what you are looking for.
It is an updated model released recently so comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and all the features (remote, bass & treble controls) / connections (digital + analog inputs) you could possibly need to use with PC.
Also they have a built-in angle to be optimal for on-desk use.

Found it for $388 Delivered (Ships from WA), & $389 Delivered (Ships from NSW) on eBay AU.

  • yup Edifiers are the best bang for buck for sure.
