Hey this is the improved model for breville up from the BEM400 (which had a few problems)

According to reviews, this is the best budget model that you can get and I've been considering getting one for a while. Bing Lee had it for $250(Not including delivery or negotiations), but considering this is the price delivered, it's quite a good deal. According to productreview, the scraper actually reaches the bottom and makes sure you don't have to scrape it. I've been following this for a while I don't think I've ever seen it any cheaper! However I went to the sunbeam sale and bought this model for $250 (it was a reworked model) http://www.sunbeam.com.au/products/kitchen/mx9200/ Good time to buy it if you're in the market for a standmixer :)

  • Doey21, what were the problems with the BEM400?

    • Google product review bem400 (Im on my mobile ATM) but it has motor problems or uneven mixing from memory if I recall. I think the new paddle is meant to fix the problem…and the model up from this (which is similar in it's concept design except with more power I assume) has gotten really great reviews too

      • +1

Ok, I see the BEM400 didn't seem to be a problem, just the fact that it didn't have the 'scraper beater' which is now included. I ended up getting the model up (BEM800) from the Breville factory outlet for $340. You should ring them (there's 2 locations) if you're in Vic and see how much this one is.

        • Didnt know Breville had factory outlets. Im in Vic, so it may be an option for me. Are the ones in the outlets brand new, in boxing etc?

        • Yes, all brand new, but most are factory seconds, so may have a mark or scratch but mainly just a damaged box. Mine was marked as factory second but had no marks or scratches and the box was fine. They don't always have all colours in stock though.

        • So the RRP for the 800 series is $550, so u got $210 off. The 410 RRP is $330, using similar arithmetic, the price should be under $200 at their warehouses. Do u know what the 400's were at the warehouse?

        • Sorry, I'm not sure the price of the 400 as I only rang for the price of the 800 and sent someone else to the store to get it for me. They were happy to give prices over the phone though.

  • I wanted to buy one of these to make ice-cream 2 weeks back. Luckily when I had the impulse to buy this, Good Guys had it for $235 (cash) with a free ice cream bowl worth $99.00. If you want to make ice-cream with it, I'd wait for the bonus again though the machine may not be priced as cheap (as when target had the bonus, the machine sold at its rrp). Ow cheapest price currently around for the machine.

    • How much did it sell for at Target? Was the good guys ticketed or bargained price, assume the later since you say cash?

      • Target sells the bundle for $249 every now and then.

      • It was ticketed at $247. I ask for it in cash and the guy check the cpu & said it was the best he could do. My sister bought hers at Target. The normal price at target is $29x, but maybe she did buy it cheaper; as I just remember her saying she bought it at target with a bonus ice-cream bowl.

    • I bought it at Target with the ice-cream bowl for $249 a few weeks ago.
      Very good mixer.

  • Hey Doey21

You say…I went to the sunbeam sale and bought this model for $250 (it was a reworked model). So it is secondhand? You happy with it? Buy from a factory outlet?

  • Rang Breville warehouses and they have the 410 at $279 and 800 at $379 (If I remember correctly). May be best to wait until on sale again as these are prices that can be obtained in stores. Thoughts on how often they are on sale, will they be on sale before xmas??

    • As above does anyone know how often these may eb on special. It was on sale at BIGW for a day or two it seems , now back to normal price. Was hoping to get the BEM410 and ice cream bowl deal if possible….

    • Thanks, u beat me to it, I saw the catalog this arvo with it in. Looks like it is the one then. Is it the same price in white or platinum, or is platinum(silver) dearer? I see goodguys have the 800 series at $467 with the free ice cream bowl. Whats my chances of getting them to do a deal and beat the Target offer of $249 for the 410?

      • I went into target highpoint (Vic) today & they gave a flier which had 20% off kitchen electricals until 4/12/2011. I don't know if it is store specific. So if this deal is at other stores, you may be able to make it $200? I don't think it had a not to be used in conjunction term either. I checked if highpoint had any scraper in stock, but none unfortunately. Had a lot of ice-cream bowl though.

        • I would assume the 20% off would not include already items on sale, but if it does, yes $200 is a steal!!!
Were u handed the flyer after a purchase or when you went in the shop?
Can anyone confirm wether it does or doesnt and if this deal is currently on at all Target stores?

  • Here's the flyer…
    http://www.target.com.au/termsandconditions/021211christmaso…
    It says:
"Not available in conjunction with any other advertised offer."
