    Price matching Target

  • +5

Does Amazon take the lead in reducing the price instead of using algorithm to price match other retailers?

    • +3

Why undercut yourself when you can sell at same price as everywhere else.

      • Yes they do,I think

All the good deals we bought from Amazon uk in last few months…

      • +1

Hmm, but Target reduced the price first, this is why i asked will Amazon do that first. I have seen many comments about Amazon always price matching other retailers.

        • They mostly do, but compre target’s stock of games vs Amazon stock of games. Big difference huh?

And also amazon send you a sealed copy!

        • While I've seen the occasional deal come from Amazon, for the most part it seems that they largely match other retailers first.

I am a total nintendo fanboy, but have to say this was a hilarious cash grab. If this was a mobile game, it would be free with some ads spiced in. If it was an xbox game, it would be $20 tops.

    • +2

Sitting on 82%? Almost 70 reviews?

    • To me, it is what 1 2 Switch should have been

    • It was a huge bestseller in some countries though :) I'd get this if it were a little cheaper so I can play on a large screen without ads.

    • +3

I've been having a lot of fun with this with the fiancee and I got it on release for full price.

$39 is a bit more of a suitable price, but we got a lot of fun out of it, especially for a game that's a collection of board games (with other ones like Darts and Tanks thrown in), it feels very polished.

    • +1

I don't disagree with your sentiments, but I would totally pay for this instead of getting ads with the free apps.

    • +5

If this was a mobile game, it would be free with some ads spiced in. If it was an xbox game, it would be $20 tops.

Costs are different to develop on different platforms.

Mobile is easy, accessible and has very little regulation. That's why 99% of it is trash.

Developing a game on a Nintendo platform is the opposite. It's a very closed system, and even the cartridges alone would add to the costs.

  • I am waiting to grab this one digital and hoping they do a sale before Christmas, it’s one of those ones you just want to have with you without all the cartridge swapping.

    • likewise - i think digital would be alot better for this game but looking at dekudeals hasn't been a sale ever :/ tempted to pull trigger on this one

    • +1

Yeah I grabbed this digital. One of the few games that I wanted to avoid the physical version of, definitely wait for a Christmas sale.

    • Buy now and resell when / should online go on sale.. At least this way you have the game cheaper than RRP.

Awesome price, but digital copy may be better for this kind of game.

My wife borrowed this from the library this week. I hate playing board games so it was a way for her to "finally beat me at a video game". Had lots of laughs and the W/L ratio is 8-1 my was so far 😂.

Might pick it up at this price. Cheers op.

  • +1

Thanks mate. Like most people said, this would be a preferred digital copy however it's a nice price. Game looks very relaxing and polished

Just want to mention that while this game is great (and I highly recommend it) it fails as a party game. If you are looking at playing up to two players it is a great time, but if you want to play the 3-4 player modes the selection is really limited. I was hopeful they would patch more 3-4 player functional games but sadly this hasn't happened.
I learned how to play a lot of new games though, so it was really worth it for me (hanafuda is a personal favourite). Just don't buy it if you want a party game.

  • iPad will be perfect for such a game, but unfortunately there is nothing currently that can be compared.

    • I hard agree - can't believe someone hasn't developed it yet. These games aren't locked to Nintendo or anything. Even the art style/animation was generic!

      • and it costs $59.95 on non discounted days on switch.

Played this every single day since launch. Thoroughly good, even if yellow and green unfairly dominate your ass in every Ludo match.

    • +1

Hey is Ludo just a button press? Played Ludo Mania and it was horrid.

      • I mean, yeah you could play Ludo without ever looking at the screen (press a over and over) but the charm comes from establishing player rules e.g. blocking on/off, first past the post, return to base conditions etc. It forces you to have different strategies for each and it gets pretty competitive. It is also presented better than Ludo Mania.

        • +1

OH, lucky! With Ludo Mania you could press A for the second player… lol, thanks!

    • +1

Haha oh no really? I played once and it didn't seem random at all I won easily and the CP almost always landed on the other CPs!

      • Hahah buttstuff I'm pretty sure there's rubber-banding to some degree. I've been on my final piece and had the remaining players all come back from nothing to make it a close race. I've also (on the three rolls rule) taken 13 turns to roll a 6 - that's 52 consecutive rolls without a 6. Nuts but it's good for the drama and the challenge.

  • +1

each game of these 51 games is worth like ~$0.77 ($39/51)

  • This or mario maker 2? I have a voucher that effectively makes $40 whichever I choose…

    • If you can get this one for $39 without the voucher, why not use the voucher for Mario Maker 2?

      • +2

Yeah I mean I could grab both but I really shouldn’t spent much at this moment with more games coming up… I think my backlog is hitting 70 games+… it is alot for me to catch up since working every weekdays and family commitment :P

I never came across with this game and not sure if it is my cup of tea. If I want board games then I would rather buy a physical one. Well I guess replying your comment cleared what I want :)

    • +1

Depends. Mario Maker 2 is a superior game in every single way. But sometimes you FEEL like playing this instead. Considering it's at a good price, get this.

  • Just bought this from Catch with 20% cashback, spent 2 hours trying to find a filler item for free shipping.
