Next price drop is $19 on BFS or Xmas.

    • best hits re-release?

      • +1

        $10 - $17 even better.

    • I'm waiting for it to come to EA Play

  • +1

    It is good?

    • +2

Fairly mixed reception, even within Ozbargain. Have seen a range of comments saying the game is "garbage", "OK" or "enjoyable".

I personally thought it was decent for a $35 purchase.

79 critic score and 7.7 user score on metacritic.

    • +2

It's an okay game, gameplay is good, story is kinda lame.

      Protagonist is butt ugly

      • +29

        Protagonist is butt ugly

Shouldn’t that make him more relatable?

        • +7

          "weeps in Huttese"

      • -5

The protagonist is kinda hot so the game is like TombRader for gays

      • -1

Protagonist is Ian (Lip) from the tv series, Shameless!

        • +3

Ian and Lip are not the same character…

      • +3

so in other words the story is on par with the recent films

      • im not gay but i didn't think he's that ugly

    • $29 is a fair price probably

    • This is a 6.5/10 for me. If you're a big Star Wars fan maybe an 7.5/10. I think people were just so excited when it released and it wasn't straight up awful.

    • +3

I don't hate many games, but I hated this.

Awful because of frustrating gameplay, very repetitive and painfully boring.

I'd play other games and get this free if possible

      • This. They end up reusing levels a few times and it got boring quick.

        • +1

Yeah, I ended up putting it on the easiest difficulty setting just so I could finish it.

      • do you like dark souls? Cause this game is similar in terms of combat. Its boring if you suck at the game but if you are good then its really fun.

        • Never played it

          • @giventofly: k well i reckon you will hate that game as well cause combat is similar

    • +6

I finished it around a month ago, I would recommend it. I'm not the biggest fan of Star Wars, but the game is a Third-Person Melee Action game with a backdrop of Metroidvania and Dark Souls with a backing. Definitely nowhere close to the difficulty of Dark Souls (in case that was a deterrent), but was hard enough. Combat felt great though.

Story was nothing to write home about, but some cool cameos for hardcore fans.

I'd recommend it for that price (I would probably recommend it for the $39 I paid for it previously, but in the spirit of Ozbargain, this is obviously way better)

    • Agree with the other comments, its OK, story is nothing exciting, gameplay is decent if not a little repetitive at times. Once you finish the story though there is very little else to do.

    • +2

As a Star Wars fan it has amazing visuals but the gameplay just becomes boring and I didn't finish it. Think of this as a Tomb Raider game (ie. jump here, use special learned key combination to complete this activity etc, followed by next "puzzle") with a Star Wars skin. As a Star Wars fan visually I was completely blown away by the visuals and world immersion. But the game became boring as it's just an extremely linear game that was just arbitrarily throwing various enemies and puzzles at you to pad the game out.

I say this as a massive fan of KOTOR. Basic game visually, but amazing story and depth in what you could do.

      • I finished it, but felt exactly the same…. I was just glad to get it finished in the end.

It was like Tomb Raider with Light Sabers which sounds cool, but it missed the mark.

    • Started playing it a couple of days ago on pc. I really like it and would recommend it. If you're into star wars it definitely has the look and feel of SW.

    • pretty passable. visually it looks great and has a big movie feel. the gameplay is nothing special and the skill tree is also nothing special.

    • From what I played I enjoyed, that being said the loading times are horrendous even on the Pro, and in a game that has you dying a fair bit, it was almost a deal breaker.

      • +1

Time to install an SSD in your Pro?

        • Yeah looking back I probably should have hahaha. I honestly haven't had that big an issue with load times without one to be honest, Last Order is the only game that stands out from the top of my head!

Will definitely invest in one for the PS5 though

          • +1

@zekamashi: PS5 comes with an SSD built in. will do wonders for this game

            • @hanyolo: Yeah definitely, I meant I was gonna get an extra one, since games are only going to get bigger I'd imagine, so 800gb, probably less, might not be enough for me lol

    • I really liked it.

    • +1

It seems I'm going against the grain here, but I loved it and Platinumed the game in about two weeks.
If you're expecting refined combat like Dark Souls, this isn't it. It does have a more "hard" focus, in that one or two shots will kill enemies, and a few will take you out, but it's not as focused on it as those games.
I got in to the groove quickly, and making my way through it as a big Star Wars fan was great for me. If you're not huge in to SW though, I can definitely see some of the sheen wearing off.

    • very good - and im not into star wars games, id give it an easy 9/10

    • Buggy mess, star wars fanboys wont mention that

      • Want to share? I experienced a bug where my character got stuck between two surfaces, requiring a reload of the latest save. It happened that one time and there has been zero other issues since.

    • +1

I’m a massive Star Wars fan.. I’m a massive action adventure fan… you’d think I’d love this game, but sadly I just couldn’t get into it and I found some planets a bit drab. Gameplay felt so ordinary and repetitive. Having to walk all the way back to my ship after completing missions while battling the same enemies I killed earlier felt incredibly time wasting.

    • 2nd on my favourite games of the year it came out. 1st was RE2 and 3rd was Sekiro. Can highly recommend.

  • Heads up I purchased this last time from Amazon and the key provided had already been redeemed. It looks like a few people had issues.

Amazon refunded the money but justifying the whole process and 'convincing' them that it had been redeemed was pretty uncomfortable.

    • +1

      PS4 version doesn’t have a key?

      • I was referring to the PC version - my mistake, this is a PS4 deal. All good then :)

  • +2

It's good for what it is at this price. Just keep in mind this game doesn't really do anything innovative and just takes a lot from other games.

I find it incredible that Jedi Outcast came out in 2002 and still has a significantly better combat system than this. Why do they feel the need to make games where the lightsaber is a glowing baton?

  • +2

Buy now or wait till on EA pass thing and then get the first month for $2?

    • Will be on Ultimate Game Pass within 2-3 months. Guaranteed.

  • brought this game few weeks ago for $39 on Amazon. Playing it at the moment. It's a good game. Love it.

  • thought this was going to be an ea/game pass game in November?

    • +1

definite chance being an EA title which is why i didnt get it on PC with the Epic discount voucher…. i thought Control was already on there but it's not, wonder if there's any chance of that or should i get it before Nov 1 voucher on Epic store expires… lol Dilemma!

  • Guys does this game have any DLC or known DLC coming?

    • I think it has some cosmetic skins and director’s commentary but no story expansion or any other content. I don’t believe there’s any planned DLC either

  • Deluxe edition for PC is $35 if you have the epic $15.
    https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/star-wars-jedi…

    $15 expires 1st Nov!

    • +1

FYI you don't need the Deluxe Edition - it just unlocks content/skins early. You can earn them in the game, so it's not really worth buying.

      • Ok thanks!

  • Bought this for $39 about 2 weeks ago. Does Amazon honor any sort of thing where you can get extra credit since you bought it for more?

    • You can ask live chat to give you a $5 credit.

      • Asked before they said they don't do it :(

  • -3

Save yourselves $29 and don't buy it.

It's bad, even by EA's standards, which I know is not saying much.

    Just don't.

    • +1

EA's standards have gotten better since 2017 but still need to go a long way with Star Wars games. Jedi Fallen Order is a really good game! Its not so kind to the casual gamer as I do agree it has hard mechanics to master. This is the reason why I think people say its 'boring' is because they find it to hard to play. If you are a big star wars fan you are urged to finish the game because of the storyline and immersive experience. The only time I kind of felt bored was when we first went to Borgono (or however you spell it). Its not a bad game so many critics have given it around mid 80%. Even steam which has a very critical fan base has given the game a solid 90%. Its not everyone's cup of tea but its not a badly made game. Its one of the best in recent times IMO

  • I finished it at the start of the year and I haven't thought about playing it again. For me, the force unleashed was a far better game. This was far too technical and too much about defence and countering attacks. I thought the story was pretty good, the start of the game is pretty awesome actually. I didn't like going back to the same places multiple times, seems a lazy way to make a longer game. Worth the money for 29 bucks I reckon, I wouldn't pay more.

  • I really enjoyed it, I personally loved the "Metroid" feel of going back to worlds with new abilities and being able to explore new areas. Only thing I didn't really like was the world design felt sloppy, almost every planet felt like islands floating in the sky with drops into oblivion.

  • Its a beautiful game that bridges the empire and the clone wars. Its amazing!
