[Price Error] Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale Can 375mL - 4 x Slabs $70, 6 x Slabs $105 + Free Delivery @ Liquorland

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Certified organic Steam Ale is a brilliant introduction to the world of craft or for those seeking a sessionable beer that is crisp, fresh and full of character. Steam beers were originally lagers brewed at the warmer ale temperatures, aiming to deliver the best of both worlds. We decided to do our own spin by fermenting an ale yeast cooler to arrive at the same place, but via a different route. The result is a crisp, seasonable beer, fresh and full of fruity and tropical characters.

Mod: Price error, refunds being issued and some users reporting receiving a $10 voucher.

  • Better go now to have a big session tonight to make way in the fridge

  • Grabbed 3 for $52.50 delivered. Any more would be greedy. Doubt it'll come through but thanks OP all the same!

With deals like this you just need to STFU and order, don't post a pricing error to OzBargain.

1 error might slip through, 10,000 orders you got no chance.

    • Exactly - never understood why people post obvious price errors, keep them to yourselves and you will probably get away with it if you complain hard enough.

        It’s a community

They don’t all get cancelled. Imagine the hero you’d be. Worth far more than cheap beer 🍻

        • +1

Yes, there is a community of members, who post deals and comments to inform or entertain. However, there are thousands more non-members clicking on deals without ever contributing to the community, other than indirectly through the occasional click on an advertising banner.

          • @Usernames: Yeah, lurkers are a problem everywhere though.

Makes one think what a closed Ozbargain would be like, could it be as successful as private trackers for example?

Seems it would be better for price errors but less ‘associated’ deals.

            • @cruiseronroad: Agree, something I’ve thought about too. Perhaps there could be an option to post a deal as “members-only” which would make it private. Guess it’s wishful thinking.

Ordered 2 for $35. Then went back to the site and noticed that other Mountain Goat varieties are $35 for 2 x 6 packs. Just hoping I don't get 2 x 6 packs and have to argue with them about it as technically there is noting on my order confirmation that says it is 2 x 24 packs………

    • Photo on the product page now shows a 6 pack too.

      • +1

still shows a slab for me

        • Me too

  • +2

Breaking news - 4 cases of BEERS!

  • Copped 3, let's see how it goes.

  • Hopefully they will honor the price

  • +1

    The invoice doesn't say 24 or carton…hope they don't try and deliver me a 6-pack for $105.

    • Email says "Can". Even the product says "Can".
Scenes if I have 2 cans delivered for 35 at home!

      • I just went and took a screenshot of the cart with 6 cases for $105, showing a saving of $291. Just to be safe.

  • Last time there was a price error on their site and I went to pick up, they gave me 6 packs, so I wouldn't risk it for delivery.

    • +1

Oh well. It was worth a try.

At the end of the day that should be their lookout though.

    • Why did you call them? If a staff member becomes aware of a pricing error they probably have to report it.

  • +2

4 slabs for $70 delivered at 17.30 in Melbourne.

    • Cool some sneaked through before some Smartie phones them to report it :)

      • Sorry, bad grammar on my part. It should read "4 slabs for $70 delivered. At 17.30 in Melbourne". ie. I paid $70 Inc delivery at 17.30 when the offer was still available.

I can see why this wasn't interpreted like that.

    • Kidding? So quick

      • No, just my bad grammar. See above.

  • Worked for VIC delivery. Fingers crossed it gets honoured. Stacked it with the fortune me (unbelievable) of getting CR bonus (targeted) . Transaction tracked by CR shortly after placing order.

  • The other Mountain Goat cans are x2 6 packs for $35 bundle
Looks like there is an error causing the Steam Ale slabs to go for 2 for $35 and $17.50 for each additional slab
    Pretty sure it'll be cancelled

    • This happens all the time with Coles liquor stores but they never seem to actually ever fix the problem so it happens over and over again

  • site is dying

  • +1

Removed! Shows over everyone. Wonder if they'll honour any orders.

    • +1

Nope still works. Just gotta add 3+ to your cart.

    • yep still works for me too

  • dammit was too slow :(

    • you sure? I just ordered

      • just got it using android thanks

  • Screenshot of 6 cases @$105, just in case

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XCyZPRDWDRQz44nmMDDd2cVyaKE…

    • Not publically viewable? Asking for an email address to view?

      • +1

        Thanks, try now.?

        • Cheers, I'll keep this on hand

  • it still works on chrome (android) - doesn't work on laptop. keep trying everyone!

  • I just copped some, lets see if this works out

  • Site has been well and truly ozbargained.. can't even create an account atm.

    • +6

why would you do that. While this was always going to be cancelled, there's always a chance it could go through. That is till someone tips them off.

        • +7

worst thing to do when there is a potential price error is to call up and notify them of the potential mistake

your impatience of wanting to confirm whether you will get your order minimises the chances of getting it honoured

calling up to confirm is NOT "telling reality", far from it

          • +4

@Samsungnote10: 2nd that hellohello123. Why tip them off. If they know its a price error and still haven't fixed the site, they must be pretty dumb. Probably wouldn't have court it if they weren't tipped off.

And Yankyviking you didn't get neg vote for telling the reality, you got it for being the idit that called and tipped them off. If you can't see that, maybe you're as switch on as the Liquorland employees.

            • +1

              @McGeeski: exactly!
you think the manager of liquorland is going to say
"oh thanks for letting me know of the mistake, let me expedite the order for you, and make sure it goes through!"

              laughable

this is what the typical definition of a lose-lose situation

                • @Yankyviking:

Or in fact vent out your frustration by ringing liquorland’s customer service for this error at their end

Wouldnt surprise me if you have already done that

  • ctrl + f5 : They changed the picture of the slab for a picture of a 6 pack.

    • When you add to cart, it's still a picture of a slab though. When I checked out 5 minutes ago anyway.

  • Coming up as $20 a slab now

    • Yes that's weird. They must know by now so why would they do that and still say price error…

    • +1

Have bought 1 slab for $20. Let's see how it goes.

  • REMOVED in VICTORIA

    • +2

not removed for delivery, only pickup

      • not even for pickup, coz not in stock in Vic ,this is what it says,

Edit: lol now it works for delivery, sorry

        • got 3 for $54 plus free delivery, thanks @BlindMan

  • Picture now shows pack of 6, but price is still $59 (pack of 24)

  • Does it allow you to buy from a different state IE set the store to VIC but delivery to QLD?

  • I got two, sent it to mates and it didn't work for them. I just tried it again and saying no longer ranged in Vic.

See what, if anything, turns up!

  • +1

  • Scraped an order through at 6:20 but forgot the cashback in the rush

  • What am I doing wrong? When I add 3 to the cart I get - Product Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale Can 375mL is no longer ranged in VIC

  • -6

Even free, this stuff is hideous.

    • +1

Lies, this is a good fridge stocker. By no means the best beer I've ever had but it's certainly better than the standard one fifty lashes or the like.

  • +2

So a mate just told me he spoke to his friend who works at Asahi. He confirmed the pricing is right, they’re trying to move stock. May only have a couple months till expiry.

Liquorland has dashed the hopes of beer fans by saying it will not honour purchases of heavily discounted slabs that were sold through a website glitch.

The pricing error sent sales of Mountain Goat Steam Ale spiralling on Tuesday.

The slabs were advertised for $59 but were inadvertently showing up for $17.50 at the website checkout — a 70 per cent discount.

The bottle shop chain said all orders made at the extremely low price would not be fulfilled and customers would get a refund.

A Liquorland spokeswoman said on Tuesday night: “The terms and conditions on the Liquorland website state that we reserve the right to correct pricing errors made due to human error, computer malfunction or other reason”.

She said the company was first alerted to the issue on Tuesday afternoon and the online pricing error was resolved by Tuesday night.

“The wrong price was displayed for Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale Can 375ml slabs earlier today on the Liquorland website,” the spokeswoman said.

“The product is no longer orderable and customers who placed orders when the incorrect price was displayed have not been charged.

“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience.”

The company would not comment on how many slabs had been sold during the buying frenzy.

A message appearing on the website on Tuesday night said ‘Mountain Goat Organic Steam Ale is no longer ranged in Victoria’.

News of the glitch quickly circulated online, with many Melburnians particularly keen to get on the beers after the State Government announced an easing of lockdown restrictions.
