How to Clean a Very Dirty Patio - Wet & Dry Vac?

Our outdoor tiled patio gets quite dirty from our dogs wandering around with dirt/mud on their paws. I use our Karcher pressure cleaner (dirtblaster and surface cleaner attachments) to get it looking pretty good every so often, but there is a lot of water pushed off the patio. Having dogs, we have areas that don't quite have grass so the dogs tend to bring some of the mud back into the area.

I was wondering if a wet & dry vac would be a better option, but I've never owned one before. Could I splash some water onto the tiles and scrub them using a wet and dry vac, leaving the floors relatively dry as well as reducing the amount of water left over in the surrounding areas of the patio?

Or use the surface cleaner (pressure washer) and wet vac and the same time? I guess this would be a 2 person job to minimize the spread of the water.

Nah . Pressure jet used hardly any water

    • The surface cleaner is needed to scrub the tiles and unfortunately it spits out a fair bit of water.

Just use the pressure jet and clean more regularly. Nothing does a better job

        • I've tried - the dirtblaster doesn't remove the dirt staining. It works great on our exposed agg driveway and paths but not on the tiles.

    Maybe you should punish it…

It'd be worth trying a carpet shampoo style vacuum.
But a wet/dry vac is just a vacuum cleaner that can suck up water, you'd still need to use the pressure washer.

  • Ex Karcher rep here.

The surface cleaner attachment can't use more the dirtblaster or the spray nozzle.

The pump puts out X pressure and Y water volume. It cant be exceeded.

  • Or buy some annexe matting and put down so dogs don’t walk in mud. Amex matting allows grass to grow but allows sand/dirt to drop down Thru the gaps. $20 all year solution
