Play it for a week, it's about all it takes to get super grindy and repetetive. It's great fun, until it's not.

just the review I needed. Cheers.

Heavily agree. The whole game feels like one game mode in what should have been a much larger experience.

dont get me wrong - weapons, environments, musical score, graphics, difficulty curve are all excellent. But it's so repetitive that you have to really enjoy a grind to tolerate more than 10 hours of gameplay. At retail, its not worth it. At $10, i'd probably buy it if i hadnt already.

      • Is the DLC essential or worth it in your opinion?

Most of them just add new maps, some of those maps are the best in the game but can be skipped if you aren't sold on the base game. The Winds of Magic DLC adds a whole new game type with new progression, leaderboards etc. and is worth the ~$7 from your choice of CD key store if you are looking for more.

This is infinitely better with friends, the same as Left 4 Dead or other similar games.

        • I never bought DLC. My brother has it and says if you enjoy the game enough to grind to the top level, then you'd like the DLC.
