A tip. If you have health insurance this might also be claimable in part, depending on your plans coverage. Worth checking.

There is a good summary here

    https://www.finder.com.au/health-insurance-blood-pressure-mo…

    • Yep, my plan covered 90%. However, you need a referral from your HP prior to buying it.

    • Mine too 80% up to 150$ I think, have to get receipt with your name on it

I researched BPM a year or so ago for a relative, and we found Choice reviewed them.

    https://www.choice.com.au/health-and-body/conditions/cardiov…

You need to be a member to check their ratings. We were members before (not now)

Best value we found then was AND 615SL This can be found online if you search for about $55 inc shipping

The Omron, maybe better (features etc) as I cant recall what models and prices I looked at when I made my purchase.

    Final TIP.

Took the unit to the Docs, with relo, and compared results to their readings and they matched pretty well, so suggest you do the same if you buy any unit. Doc was more than happy to do this.

The current CHOICE recommended models are:

      • Omron HEM-7130 (not the one in this deal)
      • Sanitas SBM 21RECOMMENDED
      • Microlife BP A2 BasicRECOMMENDED

The AND is not recommended because it has not been independently validated. The recommended models have.

The one in this deal is NOT recommended by CHOICE because it also isn't validated.

      • 'We ensure all Omron Blood Pressure Monitors are clinically validated… …from trusted organisations such as AAMI or ESH.'

Is 'clinically' not the same as 'independently' validated?

        https://www.omronhealthcare-ap.com/ap/why-choose-omron

        • Just quoting the CHOICE website. They don’t even specify what they mean when they say validated.
