Link not working for me 🥴
Aaaand its gone
I've got one, they're not that great tbh. Couldn't use it around the house as the wifi wouldn't connect. I never used Google Assistant. And recently it just died and won't turn on.
read the reviews about the short battery life (4 hours?!). Can it be extended by plugging in a portable battery? i.e. can it play when charging?
Yeah - you can just leave it plugged in all the time. But I found it was a mixture of it never turning off (so was always flat), took a few mins to turn it on, signal was bad and the audio wasn't crash hot.
I bought it purely for the Google Assistent built int - but would rather have gone with a SONOs and integrate it fully
They had only five devices I think :-(
How did you come up with that number?
Modi can make his own number, whatever he likes.
See below comment.
OK 10 :-) are you happy now?
I have this and it has been one of the most frustrating pieces of tech I have ever had for the reason mentioned above - it simply won't stay connected so forget about using Google Assistant or Chromecasting. The bad battery life is only really a pain because charging it requires you to detach the rubber water protection flap. Save yourself the stress and stay away.
Hopefully they've addressed these issues with the Link 'Portable'. I just ordered one from Catch last night $114, before the 20% cashback deal (now expired). Some pretty good improvements and I reckon worth the extra over the old model, especially if they've improved connection.
Battery up from 5hrs to 8hrs
Power up from 16w to 20w
now has USB C and a dock
now has Airplay 2
I ordered the same for 110- 10$ off -8% gift card =92 $
@watts: Very keen to know how GA is in the new model. Totally agree it's a huge improvement to have cable free charging.
@y2k: Had it for 2 days and going great. Definitely recommend based on my experience so far.
