I have the 5.1 version of this. it's pretty awesome! not to mention the 10" subwoofer absolutely thumps! worth it for that alone.

    • How often do you have to recharge the satellite speakers?

      • The 5.1 does not have detachable speakers.
They last up to 10 hours and take 3.5 hours to charge.

          That's massively inconvenient

@Bruceflix: And it's not even accurate. People on Reddit are reporting 3-4 hours on high volume and 5-6 on low so I'm not sure how they claim up to 10 hours.

      • I have the 1000 model in my bedroom and it is fantastic!! I keep the wireless speakers plugged into a USB hub so I do not need to charge them. Works sweet as!

Planned obsolescence with the death of the battery

          • +1

@Bruceflix: That and it defeats the whole purpose of it being wireless. There's a reason why no other manufacturer adopted this idea.

    • Does this one just have the extra 2 rear speakers?

Wasn't this one previously referred to as 9.1 Channel (not that it was, in any way, justified to be called that)

Even 5.1.2 is dubious at best haha

Got this 2 months ago along with a Sony TV upgrade. Worth every bit of money to watch Netflix and movies with surround sound.
I was upgrading from a 8 year old 2.1 channel Sony soundbar so it was steep change for me.

My rear speakers have never run out of battery and not having it detached is good enough for everyday TV watching if you're feeling lazy. Occasionally the e-ARC doesn't work properly with our new TV but not too fussed. We have the sub set at 3/5 setting and it's got enough oomph to start rattling some windows

  • should i get this or a sonos beam?
