Gold box deals of the day (ends 7pm 23 Nov AEDT), two Blu-ray's from Amazon.

Cars Director's Edition - 11 Disc Boxset [Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD] ~AUD$61 inc delivery
The Lion King Trilogy - 8 Disc Boxset [Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D, DVD] ~AUD$52 inc delivery

You can combine orders to save a little on shipping (the prices listed above is for single orders).

All the Blu-ray discs are region-free as far as I know (searching Blu-ray.com and bluray.liesinc.net). Only Cars 2 has a 3D version in the Car's Director's Edition. Only the first film in The Lion King Trilogy is in 3D. Note the cheaper UK Lion King Trilogy does not include the 3D version.

Reviews on Amazon indicate good looking, but practically flimsy packaging, at least for Cars, so you've been warned!

Bonus Deal: Lightning deal at Amazon UK (available for another hour or so), Star Trek Voyager complete boxset for ~AUD$95 delivered - not the best price ever (and especially crap since VAT isn't removed for lightning deals), but maybe for those that missed out on the lower prices a few weeks ago. Go to this page to access the special pricing. Edit: someone else just posted this lightning deal, I was too slow!

11 Discs for the 2 Cars movies? Overboard much..

    • Technically 3, as it includes the direct-to-video Mater's Tall Tales

      • Only one worth watching though ;)

WhoTF would buy this? I mean the cars series wasn't even that good and I have no idea which kid will watch the director's commentary on the Cars series or even the Lion King series.

Blatant commercialisation of Disney is what these bullcr@p boxsets are about

    • The commentaries aren't aimed at kids. Animation fans love this stuff though.

Just bought Lion King. Who doesn't love the circle of life?

  • Im really tempted into buying the Lion King set………..to buy or not to buy, thas is the question :P

There is no set because there was only 1 movie:p

  • Amazon.com states that The Lion King is "Region: Region A/1" - not region free.

They say that for every DVD/Blu-Ray they sell..

      • Yep, don't trust Amazon's region info.

Check bluray.liesinc.net or Blu-ray.com for actual region information. Plus you can sort of make out the region ABC logo on the disc itself, from the Amazon product pic (not that you should ever use that as evidence of the disc's region status).

  • Lion King is Region Free

No Free Shipping with Amazon.com tho
