Moving House How to Reconnect nbn Still under Contract

I am moving house to a different state . I currently have NBN with contract with Optus. Is it easy to cancel and transfer account to the new house which also has NBN.
Do I take the NBN box and Optus Modem with me ?
Hope someone can advise or will give Optus a call tomorrow Thanks

You need to leave the NBN box behind, it belongs to the house

you take the optus modem and call them to arrange a relocation
As long as they can offer you a service at new address they will transfer and reconenct.

Not sure how they do it with NBN but on Cable etc they used to waive relocation charges but restart your contract if you moved house.
You also had to go on a current plan (as in cant keep plans they do not sell anymore)
but as i said not sure if this is still the case with their NBN products

  • The house is sold and being demolished . I best give them I call

That’s up to whoever is buying it and demolishing it to deal with the nbn box.

    • Whoever purchased the property has to pay NBN to remove the equipment and reinstall it after they rebuild.

  • Okay thanks

  • I cancelled with them last week, they pretty much begged me to take the plan to the new house, when I said no thanks, they asked if I knew who was moving in to take it over(inwas out of contract)

  • I still have a contract till January I was really wondering what I need to do with the NBN Box as it only 10 months old I thought they would want to collect it

You leave the NBN box behind for the new owners.

Call optus to relocate the service and they'll explain what to do, but as others have said, the NBN box stays at the house.

If your service can be relocated like-for-like (NBN to NBN) it will, if it can't (NBN to ADSL2), they'll end the contract early.

    • thank you for your help
