Best Time to Buy Applewatch

So I’ve been denying myself that I don’t need a Applewatch. But recently I got hooked by Applewatch SE which is more affordable yet suits my need and been searching for what’s the best way to buy one.

I was thinking I should’ve bought one using my Qantas points with 20%off deal a couple of weeks ago but this is now thing of past.

Should I wait for upcoming Black Friday or Boxing Day deal or just pay RRP now and move on?

I would tell you the right time but you don't have a watch.

  • Bought a series 1 42mm on FB Marketplace for $70 - works well
    Take a look there

Agreed, Got my series 2 42mm last year for $189 at jbhifi on clearance. I know its cheaper now but look at gumtree/Facebook marketplace or maybe jbhifi might have some older models lurking at the back

  • If you want it now Jb hifi 10% off giftcards are an option

    • where?

    NEVER, OVERPRICED

  • Apple Watch SE doesn't have an always-on display. I would recommend getting a cheaper Series 5 which does if the 6 is too expensive.

    • But always on display drains battery sooner.

      • It's an OLED display. Using a mostly black watch face, with few markings (red preferable), will vastly drop the battery drain to a point where it's moot.

  • I imagine the only consistently good moment to get an Apple Watch is when they release a new one, and the older one get superseded lol. If you like the Apple Watch SE, I'd recommend looking at eBay/Gumtree/FB Marketplace. I've noticed some go up because of buyers remorse. Worth a look. Alternatively, if you're not pressed for time. I'd wait until a bargain pops up. I do remember the Series2 and Series 3 deals that came up, namely the $249 one at JB South Wharf some years ago: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/352932

Luck of the draw though. At the end of the day it probably won't matter too much. They keep their value fairly well for resell, and if you were looking to keep it until it dies, it wouldn't matter anyway.
