Does that come with the game aswell?

      • -1

        not sure

      • +1

No mention of game from centrecom it won't come with the game

    • Game is worth at least $50

      • To some, to others it's worth nada

        • +1

We only need some to buy I don't care about the others that don't want to play it.

The $30 cash back is actually ending on the 30.11.2020 so we have till end of the month to get the cashback.

Oh no Ur right 9th today.

  • 4TB is $565 if anyone wants more storage.

  • Where does this rank in terms of SSDs?

      https://www.techpowerup.com/review/samsung-870-qvo-1-tb/

Our real-life test results paint a completely different picture of the SSD. Here, the 870 QVO can barely keep up. On average it is the second-slowest SSD we ever tested, only the aging Crucial BX500 is slower.

      Seems to be really bad.

      • It is, you'd be better paying an extra $100 for an EVO. Better speeds and longevity.

        • +1

Digital foundry did a video with this drive and for BC this drive was pretty much equal to the internal drive load times on the Xbox series X.

@Jklaro: That probably doesn't bode well for the XBX SSD quality I'm afraid.

            • @[Deactivated]: Why?

Read speeds on the QVO are just as fast as any SATA SSDs, also very similar to the fastest NVME for the purposes of game loading as the extra speed of faster drives are not utilised when loading video games. The Digital Foundry test was for older XBox titles being run on the XBox Series X. The read speeds on the XBSX internal SSD are limited when the game doesn't use the faster technology available, games have to be programmed to utilise the full capability of the XBSX SSD speed. This is the same for PS5.

              • @FabMan: Why? Better speeds and longevity.

            • -2

@[Deactivated]: Lol don't worry about xsx SSD quality as it's faster at loading games then the super fast SSD that ps5 has. That machine is a joke.

              • +1

@Jklaro: No idea, haven't looked at the consoles this gen. If comparing your purchases against a joke works for you then go for it ;)

          • @Jklaro: When running older games not yet optimised for the faster internal SSD.

            • +1

@FabMan: Yes we are talking backward compatible games. Optimised games are mostly going to need the internatal nvme SSD.

      • 2TB is faster than the 1TB model.

        1TB - 42GB SLC cache (530MB/s)
        2/4/8TB - 78GB SLC cache (530MB/s)

        1TB - 80MB/s sequential write
        2/4/8TB - 160 MB/s sequential write

2+TB models have faster IOPs too.

        https://www.anandtech.com/show/15887/the-samsung-870-qvo-1tb…

I'd recommend 2/4/8TB QVO to be used for a PC's Steam library or as an external storage for the newer consoles to play older generation games.
I'd recommend 1TB QVO for the trash pile.

  • Budget PC has the AC Valhalla and I believe it have the cash back via Samsung participating stores.

It looks like it might be a Samsung redemption for the AC Valhalla.

    • +1

Looks like the Samsung redemption says purchased between 10th November to 31 December so no Assassin's Creed yet unless you buy it tomorrow.

      • correct.

BPC have removed the promo from their listings but you can still buy a qualifying SSD up until 11.59 PM tonight and get the cashback.

I'd rather the game then the cashback but i've heard Samsung take ages to redeem and I don't want to wait months for samsung to send a code >.<

        • Yeah, I'd much rather the game as well. I'll probably wait for a deal on a smaller SSD with the game promotion as I've already got 2TB in NVMe drives.

          • @Jasonissm: Yer I think I'll cancel my order and get from centrecom tomorrow with assassin's Creed Valhalla and free shipping.

          • @Jasonissm: Looking at cplonline appears the smaller drivers will indeed get the game eg 1TB EVO qualifies as well.

For the more expensive drives this promo is worse. Eg you are getting the same discount as the smaller drives whereas with the cashback you get a higher return of upto $116

Do we think Samsung will screw people over and take weeks to get your code for AC:V?

  • Hi, just noticed this is for the PC version of the game. in the Samsung T&C (thanks for the link Chavatar)

Compatible Devices -Means a personal computer (PC) device as per the minimum requirement and recommended requirement specifications
which can be found at https://support.ubisoft.com/en-GB/Faqs/000059026/904861454-S…

    link to this is https://images.samsung.com/is/content/samsung/assets/au/offe…

  • I thought with xbox series x you can only use xboxs own proprietry ssd drives.

  • Anybody end up buying one? Can purchase a code. Not sure if this is the right place to post.

    • I got one should be delivered today

      • Were you going to play Valhalla? Can certainly purchase. Sorry I tried to PM you but I couldn't figure out how lol

        • No I will be selling the assassin's Creed Valhalla code.

          • @Jklaro: You mind if you allow private messaging? Can message you there. But I am keen :)

            • @Xwahash: I didn't even know that was a thing I have allowed private message.
