Thank you OP. This is actually a great deal for me. While I can afford a Xbox. With Xmas and NYE coming up. My car, my motorcycle, my trailer, my insurance on all due on. 06/01 and Xmas shopping and moving to a new home last week of December has put a strain on finances. So to me, this works great.
    Thank you

  • how do you actually get the game pass? is there a voucher or something?

    • +2

Preloaded on Console. You log in and claim it.

    • Ditto this.
Im trying to find the token out of the box but nothing there :(

      • +3

No token. You login to your Xbox with your Microsoft account. It lets you claim a month. Then it links with your Telstra account. To check login to your Microsoft account and it will be there. It appears to only give a month. I checked with Telstra and when you pay your bill a extra month is added within 2 days

        • how does this work if you have 2 years current subs and dont want to activate it now but say in 2 years - will then all your pre paid months be added on

        • This is different to what they explain online — this information supersedes that?

  • +1

Hi All, does anyone know what happens if you have game pass ultimate already? My Xbox Live and EA Play got converted so I've got GPU until circa 2022.

    • +2

From what I've read on the CIS the 24 months of Game Pass will be added to your current months.

      • +2

It is, i believe you have to wait until you have less than a year before you can add the extra 2 years

        • so if I am on month to month for my Games Pass at the moment activating the 24 months on this deal would replace that and I wouldn't be charged for that month to month anymore? Or would I have to cancel my existing month to month to activate this ?

          • +1

@SpaceGhost: I'd say it would just cancel the month to month debit, but I'd double check that on the MS website once you've activated the 24 months.

  • +2

Reminder, only available to Telstra customers.

"Xbox All Access is only available for customers with an active post-paid service"

  • Not really a bargain given you also need a current account with Telstra.
I doubt many here would given their prices. Boost maybe but that doesn't get you the XBox.

  • +1

The total cost of $1104 includes 24 months of Game Pass Ultimate ($15.95 per month). And Game Pass Ultimate now includes EA Play.

Plus it comes with 30,000 Telstra Rewards points.

If you don't want the Game Pass Ultimate subscription you can cancel after the first month and pay out just the cost of the console.

I ordered last week and got my console today :)

EA play is amazing. 600gb of games downloading while i'm at work…

    • how did you get the xbox all access work.

I dont see any link in my telstra account.

      Thanks.

      • yeah is strange you just setup the console and redeem it

      • As soon as you open it, you activate it on screen. Pre installed somehow

        • but did you get a redeem code from telstra? how the console know which telstra account is it.

          • @ghostdom: no redeem code, logged in with my MS account (tied to bigpond) and clicked on redeem and started to D/L games

    • Wow you legit ordered it last week and got one. Nice. I ordered mine over the weekend, hopefully the wait isnt very long.

  • +3

Received mine today too. PS5 should be coming within the week. Xbox Game Pass is insane value for money.

    • how did you get the xbox all access work.

I dont see any link in my telstra account.

      Thanks.

      • If you mean how to place an order, go to the deal page linked above and place an order. You may have to login with your Telstra account.

        • I received the console today from telstra and wonder how can i activate the xbox all access.

          • @ghostdom: If you’ve logged in with your account, go to Settings>Account>Included with this Xbox. Here you will see the option to Claim Game Pass for one month. It should automatically extend as you keep paying your bills.

            • @immortanwayne: so you are not referring the xbox all access from telstra bundle deal?

              • +1

@ghostdom: Sorry I should’ve been clearer. I’m referring to the All access bundle only. What I mean is once you setup the Xbox, on your Xbox go to Settings>Account>Included with this Xbox. Here you can claim Game Pass.

  • Is this still with the 30k Telstra points which are worth about 150$

    • Yes I believe it is.

      • the website doesn't seem to specify 30k points for the series X according to the link? It specifies 18k points for series S only.

        • Hmm your right, it is gone. I ordered mine on the 7th and it was there. As I looked at how many points I needed to get an elite controller after I ordered. The extra pre-order points must of ended on the release day.

  • As usual, Telstra Business customers get the shaft on this deal. Only consumer customers are eligible.

    • I was able to add to a small business account inshore FYI. Staff informed could do inshore just not online due to their systems

      • Excuse my ignorance - but what do you mean by inshore?
I’m currently a Telstra small business customer (been one for many years) and I was looking at getting this deal

        • i think that was meant to be "in store"

          • @firefly2k3: Oh hahaha, I should have noticed that! I’ll pop into Telstra tomorrow and ask!

    • It is is attract new customers to Telstra network.
Once you are in, you don't matter as much :-)

  • I signed up to this deal on the weekend after continually being let down, frustrated and missing out on the preorders. I also went to EB and they said I likely wont be able to get more Xbox orders until early-mid next year.

Also, I wonder if employee discounts work on this. Either way, I am happy to have the option of buying it this way and hopefully I can get it in time for Christmas holidays. Only downside is that I cant really cheapout on gamepass/gold membership.

    • My Alumni discount works for it… 10% off is better than nothing!

  • -1

Dictionary meaning of bargain ‘a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected’
I guess the phrase much more is the question here. This deal is not really a ‘bargain’.

    • With the new consoles and Graphics cards, getting them currently available at MSRP is considered a non monetary bargain.

  • +2

Got mine from Telstra delivered today. Was very impressed for once with Telstra. They provided updates throughout the whole process and it was delivered as promised very quickly.

    • Signed up for this last Friday with Telstra, I’ve received two emails only so far. One saying “thanks we got your order” and the other saying “thanks for your purchase” with the critical information summary attached etc.

I’ve not yet received anything else indicating when it might ship or what wave I’m in, how long until you got your shipping info?

    • have you tried to link the telstra Xbox all access subscription to the console? I cannot see how it works I don't receive any redeem email or in my telstra app

      • no i haven't but this is what the email states:

Your Xbox All Access service includes an Xbox console and Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscription. To activate your Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscription you will need to sign into your chosen Microsoft account on your new console.

        • but after sign in I was thinking there should be a way to link it to telstra Xbox plan. or a token to redeem.

  • +3

You must have an existing Telstra post-paid consumer account to order.

Should probably be in the title

    • +3

Total deal killer. I wonder how many people would have went for this if it wasnt for the having to have another plan with them already. i know i would have

  • -1

since when does afterpaying make something a bargain 😂

  • +1

Great deal, original pre order Telstra deal was slightly better as you got 30,000 Telstra points which value = controller

  • +1

I know people are after the X more (got mine this morning thankfully), but I think on the Telstra deal, the S is a much better value.

    • +1

Not in Australia, the price difference between S/X is less than a storage upgrade.

The S has 367 GB of storage space.

If the storage was similar it would be better value, but you will need to pay +$360 for the extra storage, when you could have paid +$250 for 660 GB, disc-tray (+BC) & 3x GPU performance.

      • +1

Oh I know, the storage is what pushed me to the X when I was leaning on the S before all the deets came out about both.

But I mean the Telstra deal specifically. GPU is 16 a month, at 33 via Telstra you're paying 17 a month for the console, 17 x 24 = 408, ie, shiny new next gen machine, albeit the cheaper version, for just over 400 bucks, that's almost a fifth of the price off compared to buying it at retail, whereas the X deal is 30 a month when you take GPU into consideration meaning 720 over the course of two years meaning you knock off only 30 bucks, which Google tells me is 4% of the overall cost, versus almost 20% saved on the S deal.

        • When I saw USD/CAD prices for seriesS, before storage size and local pricing, I was 100% trading my OneS in to upgrade.

But now the X is the only consideration, but 750 just doesn't seem viable as an accessory system to my PC.

Maybe when the S model is on sale for 400 I'll pick it up. The Telstra deal is interesting, but I have enjoyed stopping/starting Game Pass when it's on sale, as apposed to being locked in around MSRP for 2 years

EA Play inclusion is making it great value.

  • +1

Got mine today :-) was bumped from wave 2

  • What annoys me is how Telstra scored so many and the general public can’t get them.

    • +2

who you think is buying them from Telstra? it's just another retailer like any other…

  • I upvoted only for the not a bargain neg votes..

  • Got mine today. Wave 1.

  • -3

This is not a bargain - especially considering you supposedly save $4 as opposed to just getting GamePass manually with the Series X.

  • anyone with a xbox series X able to confirm if optus sport works on it?

  • -1

What's the cheapest thing to get from Telstra to get this?

  • -1

My brother pre-ordered one from Microsoft and after a month they cancelled his order saying they could not withdraw payment from his account. No email was sent to inform him when they'll be taking the payment. Two days after cancelling they are informing him of the issue through an email and When he complained about it, Microsoft said they'll get another one for him and a few days later they said it's out of stock.
    He just ordered a PS5.

  • anyone receive the telstra point with the preorder?

  • Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me with this question.

In the CIS documentation, it says the maximum early termination cost is "$763.79 (1 month + $717.92 remaining on your console)". So say my current situation is I have Game Pass active until March next year, I haven't activated the Telstra one that comes in the console settings yet (or at least I believe that's how you do it). If I cancel early, after activating that, do I just pay out the $763.79… and I get 24 months of Game Pass? Or is it just a month-to-month thing for Game Pass?

And alternatively, am I reading that early termination thing completely wrong?

I know it's weird, I just don't like being tied to a contract so I'd rather pay out the console quickly and then just pay for Game Pass as I want to when I want to - it's just Telstra was the only way I could get an SX easily.

    Thanks guys

    • I believe it's month-to-month - it'd just get added on a month at a time to the end of your current pass if you activated it, constantly keeping your game pass end date at 4-5 months out (if you activate it in the next month). If you cancel early, you'd keep the console but you'd lose out on whatever game pass months you didn't pay for (and activate) - you don't get 23 months for free.

  • I got the following message moments ago from Telstra Customer Service. Surely it's not correct:

It seems that the Pre-order was closed last 9 November 2020 wherein the next dispatch will be on Wave 2: Estimated Dispatch: 9 December 2020.

New orders may need to wait in back order queue after completing the pre-orders which may be after 9 December. The exact replenishment date is not yet provided by the manufacturer.
However, if you are in a hurry, you can try checking the local store stocks by contacting them using the link below:
    https://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/find-your-nearest-tel…

    • This reads like a phishing email. Delete

  • Like most on here, for the first time I’m impressed with Telstra. I was scheduled for wave 2 (which I believe was around 9th of December)

Looks like I have been bumped up and should be receiving my order this week. The game pass subscription is like a voucher so you just apply it to the account you want. I believe you also can cancel the monthly subscription if need be. So much value in game pass though.

Considering how some of the other pre pre orders have been handled from Amazon etc, glad to see why are handling it so well

  • Any idea where we can check to see what wave we are scheduled in

  • Mine came today. Was changed from wave 2 to wave 1.5

  • -1

I made the order on the 18th and received a notification the order has been received. How long did it take to get it processed etc? Did you get some sort of confirmation e-mail later on?

If I try and track the order, it only says "order created".

    • Have you got an update from them yet? I'm in a similar boat, patiently waiting..

  • Anyone got the Telstra points promised? My order is not even marked as completed hence it doesn't show up in My Telstra.

  • No Telstra points yet, marked as completed. Does it take 3 months to apply the points as per some previous deals?

    • Hi guys, received my Telstra points from pre-order yesterday. Cheers..

  • +1

For anyone with an order still pending, contact Telstra. I spoke with them this morning and even though I had an order it hadn't been moved to the processing stage because they needed to verify my id.

Even though I've been a customer for twenty years. You think they would have contacted me if they needed more information. But anyway worth checking.

    • Did they give you an idea of shipping date? I just ordered one yesterday, admittedly slightly concerned at "shipping after December 9th"

      • I can't even see a shipping date estimate. Where did you find yours?

        • Haven't found one.. which was why I asked you. I just have the email on order that says "After 9th December"

  • I placed my order on the 13th of November. After getting no updates or even an order number I contacted Telstra through their messaging service through their app. After several attempts I finally got an update, they say that due to high demand my estimates delivery time is three to six weeks.

Currently on their Xbox site it says "Get in early. Orders placed after 11 December may not arrive by Christmas." I would not believe this. This is likely wrong. If you order today your wait time will be likely even longer than my quoted three to six weeks.

I say this as a customer, not as a rep of Telstra.

    • Got to the bottom of it, apparently the 3-6 weeks quote was in error. I should be receiving my order soon.

  • -1

Mine arrived today from Telstra, just curious how do you activate the gamepass ultimate?

I don’t need to right now as my current one doesn’t expire till 2022 but with Telstra how do you do it? Do they send you a code or something?

    • Hi A5tro,

For what I know, the code is embedded in the console so you go to settings and activate it.

What I want to know is what do you do with your existing game pass subscription?

      • Do you just sign in with your Microsoft id and it works fine?
      • If you don't activate Telstra's game pass via the console, do we still pay $46 per month?
      • If we cancel the contract with Telstra, can we then sign in using our existing game pass subscription and pay out the console in the next bill?

I don't want Telstra's game pass as my current one doesn't expire until 2023.

      • -1

Ok thanks so much mate, really appreciated

    • I dunno why don’t you ask Telstra then you’ll know? Lol

  • Received mine today as well! Not bad although cancelling isn’t that easy as live chat is a nightmare…

    • -1

      How do you cancel it?

      • -1

I dunno why don’t you ask Telstra then you’ll know? Lol

      • I cancelled mine via the live chat on the website, using the MyTelstra app was a nightmare as no one ever got back to me but using the live chat on the website worked fine :)
