Pretty steep for a thermal, but then again.. I've not seen 100% merino cheaper anywhere else.
Heaps of places it's cheaper, but the quality isn't as good as Icebreaker.
Torpedo7 have 100% Merino specials continuously.Kathmandu also have Merino shirts at least and they're close to Icebreaker quality (they actually used to sell Icebreaker, before Kathmandu started to drop their quality standards).

Problem with these is they get holes in them far too easily. These are not hard wearing. They are lightweight and need care to last.

I haven't had a hole in any of them. However, I know some ppl who have had some holes from moths. Moths love icebreaker.
I've only just started to get a little hole in one arm-put of my original one that I bought prob 6 years ago. There was a phase where I was wearing it every day during winter :p However, the ones I've bought afterwards definitely weren't as solid feeling. I haven't worn them nearly as much and have had no holes yet but we'll see.
I have a Ice Breaker Mayfair jacket that's really beautifully made, no issues with that.
