  • Great price

  • sad that they close 2 pickup point in South Sydney. I was able to do the pick up as i study in USYd and live in hurstville

  • good deal.

  • this or Evo plus?

    • +6

Evo Plus is only slightly faster than the Evo making this much better value for the average user.

  • Does anyone whether ebay will rematch price this deal after matching the price from centrecom? I bought it yesterday and price matched. Argh

    • +4

How did you do price match on ebay? Sorry if it’s a stupid question.

  • Centrecom has it for 179 delivered. I price matched it on ebay to get it 5% off.

    • +1

      How do you do that?

EDIT: I found it. A little too late to try and get free postage from an MWave purchase I made a couple of weeks ago. Darn it. Thanks for the heads up I can do it this way from now on.

    • I don't think that would work. eBay price matches the full cost (So inc delivery), and for Umart to ship to melbourne I'm getting a $10 fee which matches that price anyway

      Pardon me, I'm a nugget.

All good, just for clarity of how you do this, you order from eBay I went with Computer Alliance $189, free shipping.

You need to get the Item ID from Computer Alliance which you'll get from the invoice email.

Then you get the link to Umart website above (item has to be in stock) and provide that $169.

There is a link to chat with them on here - https://pages.ebay.com.au/buy/Best_Price_Guarantee/ - this site details the process

You get the difference + 5%.

You get it in an ebay voucher to spend within 90 days (might not suit everyone) I got one for $28.45.

        So $160.55 for the SSD.

The only issue I see is if it falls out of stock which can happen with OzBargain deals.

Having said that the service guy asked me what payment option was i going to purchase with so there might be a way to do this before purchase…

  • Does anyone know if the stand comes along with this?

  • What enclosure do you requrie for this? Am I right in thinking because its NVME it doesnt matter?

    • Just need to make sure that your motherboard is compatible with M.2 SSD

      • Are all external enclosures "M key" unless they specifically mention "B Key"

      Only Evo plus

      • Oh yeah, PLUS and PRO. My bad.

        • +1

No you were right. Look right down the bottom of the eligible drives it includes evo.

          • @Gardenia: Doesn't mention 970 Evo anywhere, did you misread 860 Evo?

          • @Gardenia: That seems to only be the SATA version, not PCIE. If Valhalla was available with it, Umart would have it plastered all over the page.

            • @NatoTomato: Yeah my mistake I saw 970 and thought this would be it but there are a lot of other "branding"

              These both qualify
              970 Evo Plus
              970 PRO

But not the one in this bargain unfortunately.

  • Thanks OP, i've been waiting for a good price on this

  • $10 delivery to me. Still a good price.
$179 delivered from here, or $179 delivered from Centrecom…. Hmmmm….

    • +3

      I don't like Centrecom.

I had an issue with a click and collect on a Samsung SSD that had a flash 24 hour price drop. When I went in to collect and pay I mentioned there was a cashback on that drive they tried to say they couldn't afford to sell at the lower price (even though its a vendor cashback) and tried to put it back to the original price. He got angry when I told him that is not how it works. All this over $6.

Put in a complaint to the store but did not hear back.

In years gone by I haven't had issues but this was really bad.

      • Yeah that would suck hard. I haven't had issues with Centrecom; but I don't have any expectations of high service standards.

Bought on eBay, price matched with Centrecom.

  • Will my MSI x570 gaming edge wifi support this? finding conflicting info online and idk if im misreading the motherboard specs.

Also this, or the Kingston A2000? currently have a shitty Crucial MX500 that slows down after 40gb and im finding i need more larger transfers lately.

    • Looking at the specs, both should work fine.

      • Lovely. thought so too, but wanted another pair of eyes. been a while since ive looked at my PC haha.

Pull trigger or wait for black friday?

    • +5

      Well, I pulled the trigger.

  • Is there much difference between the Plus and the Pro compared with this one?

    • The difference in speed is negligible for the average user.
970 Evo is by far the best value for money with the Pro being the worst for the average user.

      • Thanks.

Pulled the pin and got one
